We are leaving in three weeks and will be staying at the vistana villages on a timeshare presentation. Although I am not afraid to say no, this is my first visit and not staying in the World. Can anyone who has stayed at the vistana villages give me there opinion good and bad. What the best section to stay in . I am getting a little nervous , I miss fort wilderness cabins, nice and private. Thanks so much for the help.

You will absolutely love the resort especially if you have kids but even if you don't. There is about 8 pools some with waterfalls, one with a small slide (small kids) activities all the time for kids and adults, entertainment at night, eating on property, the full kitchen, lots of room, beats hotel rooms by a mile, mature landscape, lots of rivers, fountains, trees, ducks, fish. Oh I wish I was staying there this year (at other resorts). It is my favorite resort. Sales pitch is not that high pressure. Don't be surprised if kids want to stay and not go to parks after the first or second day at park.

Disregard all of the above as iluvflorida is talking about the Vistana Resort not Vistana Villages.

Sorry you are absolutely right. I have never stayed at the Villages. My comments stand if you can go to the Villas. Sorry again. I need to read better

As far as Vistana Villages goes, there are basically 3 sections that are open but your opportunity to choose may be limited. The original section is called Bella and it has a very large, very nice pool. Key West was opened next and it features a much smaller pool and is probably the quietest area. Amelia is currently under construction, so it has the newest units but is also likely the loudest area. Others can confirm but I don't believe the pool area is open. Dining/shopping is limited onsite but you have lots of nearby options. I'm confident that you will enjoy your stay at the Villages.

We stayed at the Vistana Villages this past March. I loved it. We stayed in the Bella section which looks brand new to me. We are staying there again this April. There is nothing not to love. You will have a great time.

I've stayed at the Vistana Villages once. I'm going back this December. (I'm a relatively recent owner).

The previous comments are correct. The rooms are great, the pools very nice, but not much on-site dining. The unit has a small kitchen. A Publix grocery store is about a block away and some restaurants within a mile on Vineland Rd and Rt 535.

As to which section is "best" I assume the layout of the condos is pretty much the same across the three sections. I stayed in Bella in 2006 and I think it was a few years old at the time. It was still in good condition. These units are comparable in design to the last section at the Sheraton Vistana.

We stayed for four nights in July at VV on the timeshare tour deal.

We were in the new section, the last building over. I am not sure but I think it had just been completed a few months. It was very quiet. We could see the beginnings of a big hole in the ground from our first floor patio. No work was done on it while we were there, I have serious doubts that it is anywhere near completion.

Nice unit, nice amenities, but we had to drive to get to the big feature pool. That being said it was a very nice pool complex with two very large hot tubs.

I did find the rooms on the smallish side, especially compared to OKW 2 BR's.
But it was certainly upt to date with good furnishings.

Quick ride to WDW, but we have been happy in offsite homes in the past much further away. Driving is not normally a problem for us.

But with 2 teens it was MUCH easier when we moved onsite as the girls could come and go on their own schedule, sleeping late, etc.

I would stay at VV again but not with older teens. And I would not pay more than $150 per night.

We stayed there a few years back. It is a great place and very beautiful. Be prepared for that because it will make it harder to say no. And watch the funny math they use.

Thank you Fellow Diser's for all the great replies. I am totally excited about my stay now. I hope I will be able to say no to the timeshare presentation. I think the only problem wil be the teenagers and getting them up and to the parks. Haahaa. :woohoo:

If you need help in saying no to the timeshare presentation, visit us over on http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/ where you will meet a bunch of people who love timesharing but have learned that whenever possible, buy resale!

CalgaryGary, I will remember that advise. I almost bought into a timeshare when we went to Williamsburg. I said no and researched (tugg) .That being said I would never by wholesale. :)
