They will probably try to reel you in for a tour at check-in by inviting you to visit the "welcome desk" where you will receive "coupons/discounts". If you skip the welcome desk they will most likely try calling your villa. If you repeatedly turn them down (they have been known to call several times during your week stay), they may offer you a monetary incentive or a ticket incentive. We've been offered everything from cash (as little as $40 and as much as $100), to Vistana "dollars" (can be spent anywhere on the resort for meals/rentals etc) or tickets (we were offered Sea World passes one time).
I've been to 3 tours/owners breakfasts.......the last was VERY hard sell and made me swear we'd never do it again. The salesman was rude and would not release us after the promised 90 min. The agreement was $40. My dh and I were honestly interested in purchasing some more time. But after over 2 hours with this guy, we bought into DVC. Now this was in 2000 I believe. Not sure if they are still this hardsell or not. Maybe someone will have a more recent account.
