My wife and daughter plan on staying onsite in october. My sister in law and her husband plan on staying offsite, but would like to come and visit us and walk over to the parks together. Is this a possibility? They will probably rent a car and drive to our resort. They probably won't use any of the ammenities, but it would be easier to meet up at our room instead of at the park.

thanks for the info.

They have to pay the resort daily parking fee or valet fee. So, they could probably do this, however it would be cheaper for them to park in the other lots.

Hi goodstick - welcome to the DIS ! Our family from Tampa joined us for the day on two trips last year - I don't know if they valet parked or paid, but know they had no problem getting in using our name. We rented a cabana at HRH for the day and they joined us at the pool - they did use our room to change and had dinner with us at the hotel restaurant. Just remember that if you're going into the parks together, they will not have room keys for FOTL, so you will either have to split up, or wait in the standby lines with them.

The problem isn't getting into the resort parking lot, it is getting out... they must pay. My sister came once & they were told they had to pay something like $18 when they went to leave. They had a very hard time getting out of it, but they did. Don't ask why it was that price, we have no clue...she wouldn't have been as upset had it been the regular resort rate (then it was $7), but it wasn't. The attendent (at RPR) kept insisting that they parked there just to save on the parking for the theme parks... it wasn't until they took out their AP's to show him that had they parked there, it would have been free anyway. Finally they were waved through the gates.

For the OP.....What I would do is give them one of your room keys to leave with. They will be able to get out by just showing that (and not paying). Only thing with that is, you will have to go to the front desk to get new keys. It is either that, or just pay the fee.
