Considering booking December 26 thru January 2nd. Historically, any room discounts normally offered? Is this a good/bad week to visit? Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

The week between Christmas and New Years is the single busiest week at Disney out of the whole year. It is also the most expensive.

See the above...this is the busiest time of the year and you should plan accordingly. Discounts are not impossible but are also not plentiful.

We were there from Christmas Eve to New Years Eve in 2012. It was very busy (but we had a blast!). Trip report in siggy.

You have to pack your patience, and you must plan, if you dont want to wait in 3-4 hour lines all day. Yes, I saw Soarin with my own eyeballs at 300 minutes  And people (not us) were still getting in line.

Yeah, oops. ;)

I'd reconsider.
