We are flying to WDW early tomorrow morning and staying out on the west portion of 192. Our hotel is fine I have talked to them and they say things are up and running that end of town with no problem....HOWEVER.....There is a mandatory dusk to dawn curfew being enforced according to the Orlando Sentinel and the tv stations sites. Will this include tourists who are trying to visit the parks evenings and for the night shows?? This would mean everyone had to be back in their rooms before dark and that would cut us out from going into the parks, restaurants along the way or stores and they would lose even more money....Any info on this and how it is being handled with tourists would be wonderful!!!...thanks...:sunny

I don't know about curfews but...

In order to have a curfew, stores and restaurants would have to close. So would WDW. Imagine the torrent of cars flowing out of the parks after Illuminations and Wishes and Fantasmic. Nobody could do a good job of enforceing a curfew then.

Perhaps after the curfew starts, exiting WDW guests would have to report to an on-site shelter.

That is not to say that the curfew does not exist. If the TV stations say it does exist, it does exist. It might only be in residential areas with spot checks by police which means all you need to do is not take shortcuts through neighborhoods nor via Sherberth and Black Lake Rds. You might call your hotel and see what their guests and employees are doing, and what they suggest.

There are many mandatory curfews here in FL. right now. Some are dusk to dawn others are 11- dawn.

They don't want people in areas after dark that haven't been cleaned up yet.

Not sure how they are handling stores, businesses but there is a curfew.

Curfews:
Osceola County has issued a curfew to take effect midnight, Friday, and continue from dusk to dawn. The curfew is in effect until further notice. Treat intersections without lights as 4 way stops. Always yield to the right.

Roads could be blocked for prolonged intervals by utility crews. You and/or your rental car company will get in trouble if you interfere with the crews.

After dark the chances of running over debris and damaging the car are much greater. One travel web site mentioned someone who was charged for a new engine by a rental company after the latter decided that the reason was running over debris and puncturing the crankcase losing all of the oil, the article did not mention any comments by the renter about road hazards.

So long as parks are open, curfew is not being enforced within WDW itself (the purple sign areas)
