Hi - We will be visiting Anaheim from June 19 - 30th. We have bought 5 day park hopper passes and plan to spend most of 3 days in DL and 2 days in CA. How busy will the parks be at this time? Will we get to see most everything in both parks? This is our first trip to California in 10 years, first time with kids, but we have visited WDW 5 times in the past 10 years. What should we be sure to see that is either not at WDW or is different or better in DL than WDW? Also, how does the monorail work? I read that there are monorail stops in Tomorrowland and Downtown Disney. Can you get on the monorail in Downtown Disney just for the ride around and get back off in Downtown Disney? We wanted to try riding it on a day we weren't spending in the parks. Thanks in advance for any information.

Be sure to ride:

Indiana Jones Adventure- A ride system similar to Dinosaur, but much better, IMO.

Matterhorn- A Disneyland classic

Alice in Wonderland- dark ride in Fantasyland

Pinicchio's Daring Journey- Dark ride in Fantasyland

Roger Rabbit's Cartoon spin- Dark ride in Toontown

Storybookland Canal Boats/Casey Junior Circus Train- Both travel around miniatures of scenes from various Disney movies.

Pirates of the Caribbean- Much longer and better ride at DL.

All the rides that are at both DL and MK are different from each other, some more than others. I think you can definitely ride most everything in 5 days.

About the monorails. The last time I was there you could take a complete trip on the monorail if you board at DTD, but you could only do a one-way trip if you board from DL. It could be the other way around, though.

As a special treat, call and get PS for the Blue Bayou and ask for waterside seating. Go during lunch as the prices are much more reasonable. If you didn't know, it is a restaurant that is actually located inside the Pirates of the Carribean. Something unavailable @ WDW...
