Fiance hasn't touched his credit card points and now he has close to 40,000 (sadly, 26,000 more would get him 2day child park hopper @ disney for DD haha) but I think he's ready to "cash in"

So what's the smartest things to do? Gift cards? Gas gifts cards? or just cash (I think he is eligable for $250?)? Or should we save the points, get a whole bunch of gift cards around christmas time and give them to people as gifts?
WWYD?

We have saved and saved and saved our points over the last 4 years, but finally decided just to take the cash. When you get over 25,000 points, your points are worth essentially the highest they will ever be when converted to dollars. I searched and searched for good deals on gift card and merchandise, but came up empty handed. The only deal was for a 3 night stay at Beaches in September, but when I tried to combine that with some of our loyalty program points at Beaches to get a free 4 night stay, Beaches would not let me. Also, you are no better off with any of the gift cards than you would be with just taking the points. That being said, it IS a quick and easy way to shop for Christmas (we have given gift cards from our Discover Card for Christmas because there you can get a $25 card for the price of a $20 one). Anyhow, long and short of it, I say take the cash, throw it into a CD, make interest on it . . .
