Visa Signature code - re-use if cancel?

I booked a SW flight using the 15% Visa Signature code. The code is one use only. Now, the price of the flight has gone down. I would like to now use the code on the lower fare. So - if I cancel the original flight, will the code be re-activated so I can use it again? I was bounced from one Visa department to another when I called to ask and noone there seemed to know. Anyone done this?

What is the Visa Signature code? Did you get it in your email?

I had a code with a SW flight and it went down. I believe I could not use the code again but I am not positive. I may have also called them on the phone and they did it for me. Sorry, it was a few years ago so I don't really remember. Call SW and see if they will do it for you. They have amazing customer service.
 
You should just be able to go in and choose change your flight and get the lower fare at that point rather than cancelling the entire flight.
This will give you a credit for a future trip.

Problem there is that the new fare without the 15% is higher than the old fare with the 15%. My goal is to use the 15% on the new fare.

I called SW yesterday and their customer servive was less than amazing. Basically I got a shrug of the shoulders. Maybe I'll try again today and hope for someone more helpful.

That said, my suggestion is to call back and tell the agent you want them to 'walk you through' changing the existing reservation, using the same discount code, because the fare dropped. Be adament that you don't want to 'lose' the code. If they balk ask to speak to a supervisor who may or not shut you down. good luck
