I use my Disney Visa for almost all my regular purchases instead of writing a check but I keep a running total so that I do not exceed my budget. The most important thing to note is that this card uses 2 cycle billing (if you need details do a search at Bankrate.com) so it is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE that you pay your bill in full every month or you will get socked. That being the case why would anyone want to have this card? Well, we like it since we are DVC members (semi-retired) and can go often, the rewards are great for meals etc. since we have 9 grandkids!
The second reason we love it is that the card has special offers on resorts (usually DVC) like the 2 we are using next week, $149.00 a night for a 2 bedroom villa at Vero Beach and then $99.00 a night for the 2 bedroom at Hilton Head on our way home. This is a great deal as we are traveling with another couple and we split the cost. We also save because we will eat several meals in our room. I won't go on about DVC but it does give spacious accomadations for a bargin price at 2 terrific off site resorts. We have stayed at both as seperate non-
disney vacations.
Each mo. the card also offers other special rates and tickets for opening events (usually in large cities) for the new movies.
Recently they are offering a bonus of 40 points = $4,000.00 in purchases ie 1% rewards, and if you give the name of a referal they receive a bonus reward also.....pm me if you do not have anyone to give as a referal and I would love to have more bonus pts.
BTW I forgot to memtion that from time to time they offer special dbl. point rates for specific items mine is for monthly purchases over a set dollar amount for items like gas, lodging, cell phone bill, other utilities and much more, but I can't recall each item.
I recommend the card to all who know that they can/will pay in full each month, otherwise it is just a very alluring temptation that may create problems.
Good luck with your decision
