Virtual Queue for Debarking the Ship
Guests will need to join our new virtual queue to debark the ship at all ports of call. Guests join the virtual queue via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app while on board the ship. Guests will receive a push notification on their mobile device when it’s their turn—plus a debarkation ticket in the app—to leave the ship. Before exiting, Guests must show the debarkation ticket, their Key to the World card and—if they’re over 18 years of age—a photo ID. Please note, during less busy times, our virtual queue will close, and Guests may make their way off the ship at their leisure.

Wonder if it's an earlier you book the better situation. Can you book them as soon as you get on the ship? Or do they open up a certain number of hours before the port arrival?

I would guess they just have the time "blocked" for X number of people. I could be wrong but I would think its just a join when you want to leave the ship. You then have 15 mins to leave the ship. No prebooking of times and a true queue instead.

Also I would expect concierge to get priority as well to leave when they choose.

It says during non busy times, no joining the virtual que. We will just wait a while and let the madness subside and then go to castaway cay. We will be going 4 days, so there is no rush.

Why would you need a photo ID to leave the ship? The KTTW card should already have a photo.

And as soon as I typed that I realized maybe its to make sure they have a legal photo ID when going to a foreign port. But it wouldn't make sense for Castaway Cay.

Castaway is a foreign port. You need the ID to get back on the ship (though I think DCL hasn’t always enforced this).

This didnt used to be enforced on CC, but several years ago, they started enforcing it. I believe Bahamian authorities insisted on it, and the ID check location before you reach the ship is staffed with nonDCL people.

Last time I was at CC, in 2019(?), they weren't enforcing it. Interesting that they have non DCL people checking that now...

We sailed in October 2019 and our photo ID was checked at the pier before going back on the ship.

Last time I was at CC, in 2019(?), they weren't enforcing it. Interesting that they have non DCL people checking that now...

I must be unlucky then. The change occurred in either 2015 or 2016 and every cruise I've been on since then, someone has been at that check point at the end of the pier and I've had to show my DL in addition to my KTTW card to get back to the ship.

Does anyone have any thoughts on if the whole stateroom would have to disembark together? I will probably be ready to head out earlier than the rest of my room, but I didn’t know if we would be able to have 2 different disembark times.

Given that people in the same stateroom can have different excursions and different onboard reservations (spa, tastings, adult restaurants) I would guess they can have different debarkation queue times as well. My guess, based on no knowledge at all, is that debarkation queues will work like Fastpasses, so that each person who registers can indicate which people in the room will be leaving at the same time.
