Virtual Assistant?

I am looking for a new job and am having little luck. I am not really sure what I want in my next career (I have never known ) But being a virtual assistant sounds like it could be interesting. If any one has more information, I would love to hear it!

I have found some stuff online, but most sites recommend getting certified. And the sites that certify charge like $3000!! I also wonder if this is something you do on your own or if there are companies that help.

That's what I thought. But then again, there are a lot of professions were it helps to be certified. How do you know though?
