It shouldn't be about showing the oil companies the power of the American people. It should be about helping our environment and the security of our country, by ending our dependence on oil all together, not just foreign.

It wouldn't have any impact. It would simply shift demand to a different day (e.g. all those not buying on one day would buy the next day), negating any effect.

Yeah, this was like an email sent out years ago...it has no basis in reality whatsoever. Stick it to the oil companies...ride a bike, or buy a diesel engined car and put in used french fry grease instead (it works!)
