Virginia & Todd Disney Wedding 3-7-13

need help ladies....your thoughts??? reception at Ariels or Grand Floridian Ballroom. I am very torn, please give me your advice and suggestions. Diane is holding both and waiting for a decision. I have no idea what is better :confused3

Also just got my room block info. . . so confusing...any suggestions on which resorts to pick and how you would do it. i have about 60 guests but most are couples and families. i heard pop century is good to book. PLEASE HELP!!! :confused3

I've never seen pictures of a wedding at Ariel's, but I have seen pictures of the Grand Floridian ballroom decorated for a wedding and it was GORGEOUS! Have you seen both? Which one would make your fairytale wedding complete? Is there a price difference? If so, how does each fit into your budget?

You cant go wrong with either! Since Im only expecting 50 or so people, I really didnt like the look of the ballrooms that were available at the GF for my date. I had wanted the St. Augustine ballroom but all that was left were the Salons... I went with Ariels bc of that and couldnt be happier!

Ladies, what Hotels did you block for your room block and why? i think i have heard pop century is good to book because they have buses that go to each park??? any good ideas or suggestions???

All Disney hotels have buses to and from the parks. Also, if your guests stay at disney, Disney provides free transportation to and from Orlando Airport.

I choose a hotel from each price point for my block. I did Pop Century bc Ive stayed there a few times and love it! I did Port Orleans French Quarters as my moderate since its the smallest moderate resort.. the others are large and can be intimidating if youre not familiar with Disney. For my deluxe I wanted Beach Club since that is were my reception is at, but there was a convention so I choose the Boardwalk Inn so that Ill be able to walk to my resort if need be :goodvibes

THANK YOU LADIES !!! you have been so helpful! we decided last night that we are going to stick with Ariel's. so....

Noon Ceremony at the Wedding Pavillion

1-2pm Pre-Reception Martha's Vineyard Lounge

2-6pm Reception Ariel's

8-9:30pm Desert Party @ Italy Isola West.

going to try and post some engagement pictures tonight if i can.

Well, ladies first let me say THANK YOU so VERY much for all of the compliments on our engagement. you are all so sweet and made me feel special and relive the excitement all over again.:lovestruc I promise to post pictures as soon as i can. the site says i dont have enough posts yet?? still new and trying to figure it all out. i cant even figure out where to copy and paste the countdown thingy so i can have a cool countdown counter like you guys do.

TODAY IS ONE YEAR TILL OUR WEDDING!!! :woohoo: March 7th, 2013 will be the day! Diane Mahoney-Brown called me today and we booked the wedding pavillion for a noon ceremony and a lunch buffet reception. As of right now Ariel's at the beach club resort is the only thing available for our guest count. i have not seen many weddings done there. Anyone know anything about it? i did see pictures and it is pretty. we also booked Italy Isola West for Desert Party! i am most excited we got the Wedding Pavillion, i cried when i visited it, i knew that was the place todd and i should be married.

Will talk to you guys soon...XOXOXO Virginia

Lol Virginia you made me laugh when I read you are still trying to figure it all out on this site!! I'm with ya girl, I haven't started my PJ yet because my date isn't booked yet but when I do start it I will be asking for help from the girls on here. I can't wait to book my date next month! My hopeful date is April 19, 2013, not too far from yours. We'll have to follow one another. :goodvibes

I just now figured out how to reply to specific posts with this post ;)

I finally came up with a theme...:yay: at first i wanted elegant classy but i didnt know how to capture that. but recently with the spring weather i saw to white butterflies in our back yard and thought how beautiful and romantic it was. SPRING theme it is!!! butterflies, big full flowers (gotta figure that out without being expensive) maybe a bird or two. but i dont want to go crazy with BRIGHT colors. i like the more calm lavendar pinks. I will be trying to keep our ceremony romantic and simple, maybe the splash of color will be in the reception. thoughts???....

Also, i just got our planning kit and things, Has anyone who had a wedding for about 50-70 guests tell me about the cake? size? style? the cake chart is confusing.

i was reading the wishes timeline and it says i need to book an officiant now? i have no idea who to book. we are not super religous and would like a prayer or two but nothing super religous. suggestions???

I'm struggling with the theme too, I'm kind of waiting until I see what information Disney sends after you officially book the date. I know you can do princess themes or do your own thing and with it being a Spring wedding, bright springy colors seems like the way to go. I'm leaning towards teal and a sea green, but I'm trying to figure out if I need a darker color in there to offset all the light colors...decisions!! :confused3

Also on the officiant, I've heard of two that have been discussed on here a lot and that's Jack Day or Tim Herring (not sure if I spelled that right), but anyway, these two seem to be the most talked about. Maybe the ladies who have already had their fairytale can add to this. :)

Hi! Your plans sound great! As for an officiant, we had Jack Day. He was great! We had nothing religious in our ceremony at all. In fact, I completely created my own ceremony (well, put together pieces that I had found here and there and from what he sent me), emailed it to him, and he performed it. He's so great!

ok ladies...i am so excited!!! we booked the Arndt's for our photography, Jack Day as our officiant, and Beaute Speciale!!! ALL the Vendors i wanted!!!! I need a videographer for about 4 or five hours just for vows, cake cutting and first dance, but whatever i have looked up so far is expensive!!!

Do you ladies have any suggestions??? Will i regret not having a proffesional due the videography? will pics be enough???

This is the link to my dress!!! Bought and ready to wear, i fit right in it. it is gorgous and is princess but not to to big! i got my swarofski crystal tiara, veil and slip and bra for only 700! my dress was 590! can you believe it!!!!!! so happy to save some money there. shoes are the hard part i unfortunately have "FLIPPERS" (as todd cutely makes fun of them) size 11 wide, and i cant wear a big heel. let me know what you think of the dress!!! :yay:
