Hiya, I'm in the process of beginning to look at a trip to WDW next year (probably May time!) and have been considering booking through virginholidays so I can use my tescos points. Has anyone stayed in one of the villas through them? If so - was it good?

Thanks

Lizzi xx

Hi,

Though I have stayed in many villa's and visited most of the developments in the Orlando area have never booked one with Virgin.
Purely because we like total control over where we are staying, nothing wrong with your suggestion but ultimately you don't know where the home will be located.
Not that it won't be nice.

Have you considered booking one direct with an owner and therefore having the freedom of choice?

I am not a villa fan, stayed in one and its hotels only for us now but if I were to book one, like Johnny, it would be direct with owner. I would want to know the exact house, location, decor, internet access etc.

Hi Lizzi - I used Virgin for a villa for my December 2010 holiday so I could use my Tesco vouchers (before they placed a limit on) - otherwise it would have been cheaper to DIY.

I picked a specific villa community that I wanted (cost more than allocated on arrival). Unfortunately, about 2 or 3 weeks before we were flying out Virgin wrote to tell me that they couldn't honour my booking and they had changed the location. To tell the truth I wasn't happy about it at all and it was a bit of a farce ringing the call centre etc.

I prefer to know where I will be like Johnny said.

In the end, the villa wasn't too bad but we did have a few problems which the management company sorted. We got some money back when we got back. As you can probably guess, I'm not a big fan :rotfl:

Will your vouchers really make it cheaper for you?

Hi Lizzi. We have travelled to Orlando regularly for the past 10 years and usually book our own villa direct with the owner for the reasons given by the other postsers above.

However we booked a 12 night stay through Virgin Holidyas last November as it was a great deal and diy would have been more expensive (although we did opt to book our own car hire).

We had a villa allocated on arival, picked up the details, location map, etc at MCO and ended up on Florida Pines (between Highlands Reserve and Calabay Parc). Villa was not brand new but perfectly adequate, very clean, quiet location and Management Company were very easy to deal with.

If the right deal came along again we would'nt hesiate to book.

Best wishes

Sarah

PS - bonus of Virgin Holidays; free Downtown Disney check-in :)

We had a villa through Virgin Holidays that was at Coral Cay. Despite some not-so-great reviews, the villa was perfectly fine. It suited our needs perfectly, good driving distances and would go back again in an instant. Only problem is that they don't seem to have bins outside the house, you have to walk to a trash disposal (it is within the villa complex).

Happy planning :)
