Virgin???

Yes thats right 2 x 23kg per person but it used to be 2 x 32kg until a few months ago.

For our Disney holidays (recently been just the 3 of us) we always take a couple of suitcases with clothes to last the first couple of days, toiletries and 2 or 3 large holdalls. We are big shoppers so this year we'll probably have to end up with 6 pieces of luggage coming back to combat the lower weight per bag. When it used to be a family of 5 we used to always come back with almost the full amount allowed. One year we had 10 cases and a Disney mirror :scared1: but Virgin didn't say anything, got a few strange looks though as i was left standing in the queue with my little brother for a while surrounded by all those cases.
I've always wondered what the limit was that they would take the cases before they were too heavy. Last christmas coming back from Vegas (again just the 3 of us) we had 3 suitcases at 59, 60 and 61 Kg. Being 3 guys we never thought to check the weight before and had no idea they were that heavy. At check-in they just slapped heavy stickers everywhere but said nothing. I assume that as at the time we were allowed 2 x 32Kgs each, we weren't over the allowed weight, and a half empty plane they let it slide.
Has anyone here been asked to repack suitcases at check-in due to the weight? I can vaguely remember my mum unpacking one at check-in and buying a cheap holdall from an airport shop to use. I think this put us over our luggage allowance in terms of units but they said they were just worried about the weight and again didn't get charged.

I have been at Liverpool airport waiting for an Easyjet flight a couple had to repack, one case was over, one was under. Also 2 transatlantic flights similar situation.
A relative of mine went to Dominican Republic this week, found out yesterday they were charged £135 for extra luggage, dont know the details but heard they had a 20kg limit and they were way over.
