Is there a latest check-in time??

We are probably going to go to Universal before we go to our villa and perhaps have dinner at the City Walk - Will we be time restricted in terms of collecting our villa keys etc???

Thanks alot:thumbsup2

Not so sure, we always book a villa independantly.

I presume there is a collection point for the keys, especially as some people may arrive at weekends.

A lot of villa owners have a Management Company who look after their interests and often provide a lockable security box at a certain location and you just have the code required to access the box, but not sure how Virgin do it.

To be honest I would be very reluctant to leave my luggage in the car for a lengthy period of time, just personally wouldn't do it, Orlando is a very safe place but getting to the villa and if you have any energy left go out then (we certainly wouldn't ;) ) would be the way I would do it..but just my opinion.

To be honest, I would also be worried about checking into a villa too late (although I haven't booked through Virgin before).

I - maybe a bit of a worrier - like to make sure that everything is ok with the villa (we can find it, we can get in, there are no problems/complications) before it gets too late to do much about it.

Have you considered going to the villa, checking it out (and maybe an opportunity to shower and change), then maybe out to Citywalk or Downtown Disney (closer)?

Just a thought, sorry I can't answer your original question.

thanks for the advice - we are thinking of staying at Hard Rock Hotel the night before we go to the villa, so the luggage will be ok. I was planning on having an early meal at the City Walk and imagined arriving at the villa by 7pm? Is that seen as being too late??? (I was thinking that people coming in on late flights might not arrive much earlier than that anyway - or is that not the case?):confused3

Thanks alot for your advice:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

On average we get at our villa by around 5pm at the latest, can depend on how long it takes to clear customs, baggage claim etc at MCO.

It could depend on where your villa is located, I understand many of the Virgin one's are on the US27.

The main thing to consider is if it gets dark (or at least starts to) will you be able to find the villa?

Not sure about Virgin but we had a villa with First Choice:mad: when we got to the place it was filthy (bugs, dirty laundry etc) the management company had closed before we could get back to complain. They closed at 5pm so therefore 11 of us had to make do for the night the best we could. We were short of beds (the others were full of creepy crawlies) and had to sleep on the floor until the following morning.
As others have posted i personally would go straight to the villa and check things out so you would still have time to change, if necessary.

OK thanks for the advice - I was hoping to eat at City Walk after a day at Universal Studios, but i think I'll go straight to the villa now instead!!

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Ouch - sounds like a nightmare! I hope they moved you to a nice villa immediately!

We have a keyless entry on our villa so guests dont need to collect keys, we give them a code that changes between renters, so guests can arrive any time they want (the security gate is also manned 24/7).

Try contacting Virgin and asking if you will have to collect keys, or if there is a keyless entry or lockbox system.

Hi Amy :thumbsup2

I would have thought 7pm would be absolutely fine for the villa. If you were travelling from the UK you could well be arriving a lot later than that anyway if you were on the later Virgin flight or an indirect one.

Just a thought .... to save one check in and out and packing, what about a night at the HRH while you are staying at the villa? I know you "lose" a villa night but you could just pack a bag for one night and leave the majority of your stuff at the villa, and then you are not so restricted in terms of the ability to check in and out when you want?

They did but we had to move out of it after a week as the owners had changed management company so we got moved again, three weeks holiday and we had three villas, would never use First Choice again  Rep wanted nothing to do with any of it, just kept passing us onto Welcome America, who were great. First Choice were more interested in getting us to buy suncream and tickets

Thanks Karen, I hadn't actually thought of that idea!! May have to think about it - although Steve wants to spend as little time with the relatives as possible:lmao: :lmao: !!!! (sounds mean - but I can sometimes see why he feels like that!!:rolleyes1 ), so I think he will like the idea of leaving them a day early!!

I must admit that I thought 7pm would be ok, because of some peoples later flights - I might give Virgin a ring and see what they say - thanks everyone for their comments - much appreciated!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
