Hi, Has anyone any recent experience of the V Room? Is it worth making use of?

Any reviews would be appreciated.

We've used it three times now and would highly recommend it - well worth the money. The cost is similar to a cooked breakfast at one of the outlets in the airport. We always go Saturdays during school holidays so it is busy but we've always found a table.

In theory you have a quicker route through security but we've never used it.

You can enter the Vroom 3 hours before departure (we always get to security about 4 hours before so that we can do some shopping before heading up there.)

The tables are in two sections - one bar area for adults only (no good to us I'm afraid :( ) and a family area.

There is a buffet breakfast with cold items (fruit, pastries, croissants, chocolate brownies, cereals etc at the time we are there for a 11.30 ish flight). A hot buffet which you can only have one of the menu per visit but unlimited visits (cooked breakfast and toast) and a hot drinks area plus an area for little children (not applicable to us anymore.)

There is an indoor play area with soft play toys for toddlers.

Then there is a room with about 6 computers for internet use and a table football game and wii or similar game (we never have a problem getting computer access but lots of issue getting any access to the others).

The toilets are clean, there are Virgin staff at a booking desk (which we've never used) and complimentary papers and magazines.

Finally it has a terrific view of the runway and you can watch the planes come and go to your hearts content until your boarding is called.

Major negative not booking to go with virgin holidays for us is that we can't do this.

We are flying from Manchester in January and have booked the V-Room. Very excited as it was cheaper then what we paid for our breakfast and few drinks each at F&B's.

Are they similar for any one that has used both?

Rather than start another thread.

What food is available at the VRoom Manchester I you are catching the 1.45pm flight? I'm thinking we might book this. Never bothered before but we've never been on the later flight before. It save me £400 though.

yeepee ive booked the vroom all excited :cool1::cool1:

Where should I go to book a room? I have had a good look at the Virgin site and can't find where. Do I need my flight booking number? I am still trying to get them from my agent.. but still got 130 days so no real panic.

It's for virgin holiday customers only. So if you have booked hotel and flights with virgin as a package give them a ring. X

I thought you could pay to use the vroom as long as you booked flights with them?
We only booked flights when we used it, unless its changed

It supposed to be Virgin Holidays customers only and you can only book it through them.

I have heard of people not booking a whole holiday just a few nights hotel and being able to add it but that all depends on the booking agent.

Personally we wouldn't pay for the V-Room or any other lounge. We usually the Tesco deal at Gatwick so breakfast is included there. We usually use twilight check in so don't go through that early so it's fine just wandering for a while. We have used it once when did a big family trip when DD was 1 so we know what there - it's just not worth the cost to us :goodvibes

Hi:goodvibes

We just booked a fly drive - no accommodation and we have booked vroom:cool1:
Highly recommend it!!

See I knew we had booked just our flights and got vroom!
It cost us £10 each and was worth it to us! :)

A flydrive through VH qualifies as it is a booking through VH. Flight only which would be booked with VA doesn't qualify.

Think the V-Room is about £20 now :rolleyes1
