Virgin Suitcase Size Allowance

A friend asked me about this morning - I gave her my opinion (not to risk it!) but I thought I'd tap the depth of knowledge here!

They are flying with Virgin on a Virgin Holiday next summer and she'd just treated herself to some new cases only to find that when she adds the length to width to depth she is over Virgin's size allowance by 9cm.

Do you think she'd be OK or would you buy new cases!

I can't imagine they ever check this unless the bag looks enormously over size.

Although 9cm can make a big difference in some circumstances

My suitcase is over and they have never said a word, I don't think they notice that, its the weight that is important.

I don't think she needs to worry too much about it, it's the weight that they seem to focus on.
