Virgin have just released some flight specials to the US. I'm on my phone so it's too difficult to share the details, but i saw SYD - LAX $900. SYD - JFK $1250. SYD - MCO $1400

I had a look - I think it was around mid Oct (14th) to late November (24th).

That sounds like a great deal. I couldn't find it on their website, was it via an email?

I don't think they're up anymore I went into happy hour, then find best flights, and saw them listed straight away. But now higher prices are listed. For the same dates though, and when you go through and do a search, flights from Syd- LAX return are coming up as $1200 per adult.
