virgin shopping excursion

Hi everyone
As non drivers we do not want to miss out on all the shopping to be had, has anyone done the virgin shopping excursion recently?
I have heard it is a long day, and some parts you are just hanging around, or do you think you could do it by taxi, and if so would anyone know which one is the best we do not want to do the outlet, as l have a 17 year old who just wants to shop at a mall and how far is it from AKL, we are going in October.

Premium Outlets is the closest to Disney and its just the same as a mall really.

We normally take a day maybe two to go to the malls, one outlet and then the Florida mall, we take a taxi and then we can spend as long as we want wondering around the shops and thne get a taxi back.

i would not pay for an organised trip personally just for shopping.

You can catch a Lynx bus from the TTC or Downtown that goes to Florida Mall, takes about 45mins but super-cheap! Think it's the 111 or the 50, hopefully someone on here will know!

We did the Virgin shopping trip many years ago, it was not something we would repeat. We started with Breakfast at a Sizzler where we were sat on a table with another couple (Who we had never met) who had started eating and were about as impressed as we were! The stops on the trip were avarage at best, and if you alerady had trainers you probably didnt need to get off the bus. Hope its changed!

Sorry, but I would probably disagree with that.

While you can get some bargains in the outlets, many of the outlet shops are selling previous season (or previous years') ranges and stuff that they can't sell anywhere else. If you go to Florida Mall, you get the regular shops selling their current ranges. Florida Mall also has the department stores e.g. Macys, Dillards.

Thanks for all your reply's, l don't think we will be doing the outlet we would rather go to the other Malls, does anyone know how much and how long it takes to get to the Florida mall by taxi, we are staying at AKL.

We tend to get a cab form DTD and go to Premuim for bargains but florida is more current
