No I know its 90 days out to reserve specific seats on VA but when can I book extra legroom or exit row seats. Is that 90 days too ?

We fly 8th September 14 and few weeks ago I booked our extra leg room seats.

Did you just pay for the seats or could you pick the exact seats you wanted ?

You can only book exit seats at the airport as the staff need to see that you are fit and capable of operating the doors in an emergency.

No with extra leg seat you get given them on check in you can't pick which ones.

I'm not sure that's always true. When I flew out I upgraded to exit row at the airport, but the two men next to me both booked theirs months earlier over the phone.

You can book extra leg room whenever you like, but cannot choose which seats you are in ahead of check in at the airport.
