Flying lgw to orlando. Have pre booked our seats(bascically whole plane was available) and went for downstairs near the back so we could get a 3 and 2 on there own. What i was wodering is is there any diff between being in the bubble and downstairs in economy. We re in pe for the return? We were a bit worried if we were in the bubble are two year old will just want to go up and down te stairs as wconomy is next to the stairs i think

Economy is the same wherever you sit, same pitch, food etc .The only difference with the bubble is its quieter and people say you get better service because there are fewer of you,and you will probably get off the plane quicker than being at the back.We sat at the back last year as we wanted a two and a two behind each other and it was perfect.I don't think our service suffered for being there. We would sit there again:)

Great helpful! That s what we thought, just thought i d double check as a lot of people seem to be bery excited to get seats in the bubble.

Same as you we want 2 seats on their own!

One thing to consider is that if you're at the back, you'll be amongst the last to disembark so that means you will be the last in a large immigration queue :) I prefer sitting near the front outbound for a quick exit! :)

Very very good point. I was at the back of the queue for immigration a couple of weeks ago and it took around 2 hours!!! I had 2 very tired kids too. It was horrendous :-(

Think it all depends if any flights have come in before you, which is tricky to judge, if another 747 has just arrived then I don't think it will make much difference where you We were at the back last year and were one of the last ones off, but we got through immigration in under 30 minutes, and that was at whit.five years ago we went in february and it was an hour and a half wait .

It's very hit and miss. Last time we were out in ten minutes, but we pretty much sprinted off the plane lol. Previously it taken closer to two hours.

You just have to hope you get lucky on the day. FWIW our last two trips on the 11:00 Man flight had very short waits. But if it's delayed by an hour you hit at the same time as the 747 from London :)

Shame no one knows how long it takes to get a 747 through security. I wouldn't have thought long at all

I'd say its a good 50 minute difference from being first off to last off a 747, that's before taking into account any other arrivals

We flew economy in the bubble last month and I was surprised how good the experience was, our case seemed to have gotten mixed up at MCO and came out on the premium economy luggage carrousel. We breezed thru customs and immigration!

By good do you mean Virgin were good or that it was better than normal economy?

I haven't been on a plane since 1999, but the bubble was nice and quiet and getting off quicker I would consider a real bonus. Last time I flew I felt a bit more like livestock than this time

Just having had a look on V-flyer at the config of the 747 Jersey Girl that flies the LGW-MCO route can anyone tell me the door that you get on and off the plane is it at the bottom of the bubble stairs i.e between PE and Econ or between PE and UC as I can only see an exit door at the bottom of the bubble stair which means it's at the back of the PE seating section. :confused3:confused3

I hope this makes sense

The stairs to the bubble are right in front of you as you enter the plane. This was the case for English Rose and Barbarella that we flew on and I would guess is the same for all the LGW 747-4 fleet

Thats how I remember it with downstairs PE being immediately on the right as you walk on the plane however the seatmap on V-flyer shows the door being between the UC and PE cabin and the stairs to the bubble at the back of the downstairs PE cabin :confused3:confused3

Sat in the bubble last wk for both legs of the trip. The service was amazing could not fault it at all!
Plus no Qs for the toilet lol!

It was very quite and we thought quite spacious, since you have a ledge next to the window that holds your luggage in " we'll small back packs etc" I was able to put my pillow on it and sleep on the way there and on the way back I put my legs up and stretched out as my son was in front of me and was nicely stretched out all the way back, very Comfy and I'm praying for them again!

You board through the L2 door which is by the stairs. When boarding PE & UC will turn left with E to the right :thumbsup2

For the LHR config you still board by the stair but the larger UC cabin is to the left with PE& E to the right. Upper deck is mixed UC & E.

I am flying to Miami from Heathrow next September.
Where can I go to look to see what the seat configuration will be for my flight. I am in PE?

Thanks
