virgin premuim econ

Would appreciate it if someone would post the Virgin phone number you are using to ask about upgrading.

After speaking to Expedia today who my tickets are booked through I think they are just fobbing me off saying they had been in touch with Virgin and were told this offer ended months ago.

Also told me that PE was fully booked up for flights in November when we fly.

Anyway I would be grateful for the phone number so I can get it from the horses mouth.

Many thanks

Sean.

Can't help with the number, but to find out avialability for your dates why don't you try Virgin's website (on-line booking) - that should tell you if there are seats for your dates...

You may find Virgin's customer service number on their website. Varify availability and the offer, then - if Vrgin cannot upgrade you - phone Expedia again. If the agent you speak to cannot help you (after quoting availability and currency of the offer), then ask to speak to a supervisor.

Keep trying, I swear that front line customer service agents are always taught "fob them off with any old rubbish and they will go away"...

(wonders why nothing is ever easy or straightforward in this life... at least where "customer service" is involved)

I think that you need to (metaphorically, that is): their is really no such thing as "can't" (at least that's what my teachers used to say...). Providing your request is reasonable (which I believe yours is), you just need to use fact gathering, charm (getting angry very rarely helps) and persistence to get you there.

Good Luck!

Just tried to upgrade our seats to Miami in Nov but Virgin are still asking £250 each (one way) and they wouldn't budge. They said the only ones left for £125 are to Orlando , the last few days of Oct. On past experience I doubt this so am going to leave it nearer the time and if they still show P.E. availability, try to do a deal then.

Hi guys,

Has anyone who didnt book their flights through virgin managed to get the upgrade at the special price??

Thanks
Neil

This is a REALLY REALLY cheap price!!

Last time I went to Orlando we paid nearly triple that for Prem. Econ. seats.

If anyone is going in September I HIGHLY RECCOMEND upgrading.

I tried phoning the virgin travel store and they fobbed me off with "It is only for new bookings !" I argued and will phone back to talk to a supervisor. Does anyone know if it is reduced price for children ?

On their website, Virgin are quoting £83.75 each way for children's price on PE:eek: BOOK IT NOW.

I'm going to ring tomorrow because we booked our upgrades months ago at £495 each and £250 for DD . . . worth a shot

This must be a new system , because when I booked PE seats in 2000 I paid the same price for my 3 children (3, 11, 13) as the adult price. I feel slightly ripped-off now :-(

Sorry for the misleading info, but thats what I paid.......

Can anyone tell me where I can find details about upgrading to PE on the Virgin Atlantic website I just don't seem to be able to find it at all!

Hi Snookhams:
just ring Virgin reservation direct, they will transfer you to the right dept.

Make sure you get yourself a good deal, and do't be fooled in to thinking children pay the same price as adults , (like I did :-( )

Have Fun, you only have 8 days to go now, you must be soooo excited!

After seeing this posting phoned Virgin, we had made our booking a year ago and paid top wack for premium economy, after gentle pleading tonight managed to get them to agree to refund the difference between the old rate and the new as stated on this forum.

:D thanks for informing about this new rate - this has saved us a lot on our holiday - an thanks to virgin for being so reasonable about it

Hi Cleobury,

I just received your e-mail and loggedon to put your info on,and you're on here now:D
Glad you managed to figure out how to post,I was going to suggest you e-mailed one of the mods:Pinkbounc

You had a great result with the PE refund:bounce:

As my flights were booked with Funways Holidays I won't even bother to call them.I'm sure the only chance of any refund is if someone has booked direct with Virgin Holidays?

Thanks aswell cleobury

I will try the same with virgin tomorrow

Hopefully some politeness and the knowledge that someone else has already received a refund will help my case for the same

I upgraded 2 flights only a month ago and again paid double the current price for 4 people.

Bad News
Virgin are refusing to move on this and are not accepting what happened to cleobury
They also say the offer ended 3 days ago.

Personally I don,t see how they can offer a refund to 1 customer and then refuse another in a similar position

Cleobury : Any chance you could e-mail me so that I have more ammunition when I take this up again with virgin, a booking number might be helpful - very grateful for any info you can send me.
Thanks
Chris

i can confirm that they said the offer ended 3 days ago to me as well, i said, thats a shame because i would of seriously considered booking pe, anyway she said to hold the line and she would see what she could do. anyway after a couple of mins she came back on the line and offered me £105.00 off per peson to up grade to pe. thought this would probably be the best i could hope for so said book it, so paid for it there and then before she could change the offer. now just how do i tell DH or do i leave it as surprise at the airport...........alison

sorry, cannot post Booking number on public forum.

details of transaction with Virgin

booked over one year ago, 2 adults 2 children, PE and Club Orlando, October from Manchester. Paid in full two weeks ago.

phoned Virgin 20:30 31.07.02, gentle discussion putting my case for refund. Agreed to following price changes PE £250 per adult with increase on Club Orlando to £100 each way. Total saving was £418 for the four of us which they said would be refunded over the next few days (not in my hand at present).

Hope this is helpful

Good Luck!

Alison,
Leave it as a surprise!!!
The only trouble is once you've been PE you won't want to go back to Economy!!!
We certainly don't/won't!!;)
Claire :D
