Hi,
We have just booked our flights from Glasgow to MCO - first time flying premium economy (flew virgin economy from Manchester years ago & remember the plane being an older plane ...maybe even some other companies plane just virgin covers on seats ??... wasn't overly impressed). I am trying to find out ANY information on the flight. Has the plane got an upstairs & downstairs? what are the best seats? Is it worth the extra money? meals? luggage allowance? do they still do the amenity bag? As I said any info to keep my excitement going.
:cool1::cool1:

They use both the 747 and A330s from Glasgow so it will depend on the date as to which plane is scheduled. 747 have the upper deck which is split front PE back E  It used to be so nice with the all PE upper deck

In PE you will have the purple leather seats which are very comfy :goodvibes

Outbound I like sit as far back in the downstairs cabin as possible to get to the front of the immigration line at MCO :thumbsup2

Coming home anywhere away from the toilets :rotfl2: Getting disturbed by the light does not help me sleep :lmao:

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. we are going end of October...Do you know what plane that will be? Whats the difference being on the upper deck...sounds quite nice.

If you go onto "manage my booking" on the virgin website and click on the flight number then it will tell you the aircraft type.

If you can't get into your booking, then go in the virgin Atlantic website and search for your flight on your travel date and again click in the flight number and it will tell you the aircraft type

It's impossible to know what plane you'll be flying on until you get to the gate.It can change numerous times from when you pick your seats online until you get to the boarding gate.
It happened to us in October. It even changed from the time of twilight check-in to the gate.

Hi

We have just come back from Orlando (went from Manchester) and flew PE both ways.

There is a separate check in at the airport were PE and UC are given priority.

We sat downstairs and found the seats&room really good and there was plenty of space in the overhead lockers.

We were boarded 1st along with UC, once on board were served with a glass of fizz or OJ before takeoff.

There was a bottle of water on the seat along with blankets&pillows and were offered magazines or newspapers along with a menu which I believe is a different food choice to Economy?

Crew came round several times with drinks and amenity kit was only given on the night flight home.

Also the extra baggage allowance is also great :rotfl2:

Yes, we were switched from a old plane to a refurbished plane at the last minute. We were moved from back of downstairs to front of upstairs! How was your trip anyway? Hope you had a good one! Xx

Impossible to know which precise plane but not to know whether its a 747 or A330 , which specific aircraft it is doesn't really matter after February as all 747 refits are complete and the 1 747 that hasn't been refitted will have left the fleet and the A330 are all pretty new, so all aircraft types will offer the on demand IFE and latest PE product

I can honestly say it was the best trip iv had there so far.Weather was brill, coulda been a bit hotter but thats just me.Previous years I think I neglected the parks and didn't really pay much attention but this year I really became a kid again. Can't believe I won't be going back this year but going to try for next year and hopefully fingers crossed stay on site,I'm yet to experience the staying on site.
How was your trip?I should imagine it was just as awesome as mine :)

We flew Virgin P.E. last year. On the way out to Orlando, we were downstairs in the front row. Flight was good, IFE was good, our particular cabin crew person was WRETCHED. We complained about her because she was so bad. Basically, she spent the entire flight talking to a family next to us, plying them with drinks, chocolate and snacks from UC. She was crouched on the floor in front of them chatting away and after the 4th time asking if I could have a drink, I just gave up. At the end of the flight, she gave the family of 4 8 cans of drink and 2 large cartons of juice to take with them then gave them an evaluation form to assess her performance!

Coming back we were in the bubble. Much nicer and quieter (if you can get up in the bubble I recommend it). Service was better on the return for sure. Overall, not too bad just one horrible crew member.

We were really spoilt with the weather! We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and learnt so much and paid so much attention to details we would have normally missed! Can't believe I'm going back in December, my Grandad is taking us, otherwise we'd be saving for a very long time! Just posting some videos onto my Youtube channel, remembering how much pixie dust we had!
