We've booked with Virgin to fly out to WDW in October. I normally find that whilst on the plane I'm really cold so tend to wrap up, but I've heard that Virgin planes can be quite warm.

Just wondering so I know what to wear, I don't want to be sweltering for 10 hours.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going in December, but I intend to dress lightly for travel (because I'm presuming that Florida's winter is like our summer) - you can always get a blanket on the plane :)

I am always cold on the plane as well, especially my hands and feet - I always take a fleece and use the blanket. Oh and the rather fetching brighltly coloured socks that Virgin give you!!! :rotfl:

I love those!

This will be my first trip with Virgin but my parents went to the US earlier this year and gave me their amen-thingy pack.
They didn't use the little toothbrushes and toothpaste so I'm planning on taking them in my hand-luggage to use at The Hilton the night before :D

Truthfully I normally save most of the items in these packs for the 'love in a shoeboxes' that we start to prepare towards the end of the year, as a family we do between 4-6 boxes and use the socks and tootbrushes etc along with small items we buy throughout the year - some I get in the factory outlets in Orlando and in Walmart - normally a disney item or two...

I find ALL planes cold and the blankets Virgin give you are too small and too thin. Florida in winter can be extremely cold so I would suggest you dress in several layers and yes, a fleece is a good idea - at least your body would be warm.

I find that the plane warms up the further you get towards Orlando, which is what you'd expect, this is why I always dress lightly on the way out.

Whilst waiting to come back I put more clothes on, it's always strange because people think you are mad sitting there with an extra layer on, whilst they are in their shorts and tee shirts - when we arrive back though, we are always the ones smiling. GOD I SOUND OLD !!!

I normally take something light, this year just taking a summer fleece. Normally it is okay going, it is when I am coming back it feels a touch chilly.

We're exactly the same - I always look at the ones in the tee shirts and shorts like they're mad when they board the plane - I dress like that to the airport and then put on some tracksuit bottoms and add a fleece for the flight - night flights are cold and when you hit Gatwick at 8am on a chilly November morning... I feel very snug and smug :0)

For the way out I wear my tracksuit bottoms and have a fleece handy in case it's chilly, then my shorts are in my rucksack so I can distch the bottoms while waiting for the suitcases, throw the fleece in the trunk and hey presto shots and t-shirt to match the weather :0)

I like those virgin socks to put over the ones I'm wearing as I don't like to wear my trainers on board and they keep my feet warm.

l find it gets quite chilly and l'm always someone thats hot. The blanket helps but as stated before it is quite thin.

Funnily enough, the complaints in UC are that the planes are normally too hot and you have to throw the duvet off!
I just turn the two air vents full on and that keeps me cool enough to sleep well.

Yeah l had read that but as l'm usually the only one in my office in the winter wearing a t-shirt and sandals because l'm always hot thought it must have been a one off !!!

Im travelling in comfy jogging bottoms and a thin fleece top, but im taking a change of clothes in my hand luggage and will change in the plane toilets an hour before landing into something more appropriate for the florida heat.
