Hi
We're flying on VS015 from LGW in a couple of weeks, P/E. I've currently got seats pre booked in row 82 as we need 3 together. Does anyone know if it's worth trying to change these at check in to row 81 as it looked like there may be slightly more room there from the seat map?

Thanks

I dont know if that is upstairs - but we flew in August and had 3, 2 on one side and 1 on the other which was fine as there is so much room to move around. Have a good flight.

Rows 81 and 82 are both downstairs. You really don't want to be there, IMHO - the upstairs cabin is far superior. It's like being in your own little private function room. As long as you get 3 seats in a row, it won't matter than one is across the aisle. IMHO, the best seats for your party would be the exit seats (row 75), but you can't book those in advance. We also like the seats right at the back (we prefer row 79 A&C). The back seats on the right are 80 H&K (just the two seats - there are no seats A&C in that row), so if you'd need to book row 79. Some people also like the bulk-head seats. I suggest booking something for now and trying to get the exit seats when you check in.

We were allocated row 81 on VS015 last month despite requesting roq 79 at 180 days out. The lady at check-in said that as we had a small child we had to be seated together - we assumed that we would be given 3 of the 4 middle setas but no - were given 2 and 1 across the aisle - exactly as we had requested upstairs!

I would certainly try for seats upstairs - the toilets are in front of row 81 which causes a lot of foot traffic - although these are for PE and Upper you tend to find that the upper passengers wait in the PE cabin.

The service wasn't noticably worse than upstairs - the 2 rows of PE share cabin crew with upper class.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help everyone. We've been P/E upstairs before and loved it, but we have a 22 month old with us now so we really wanted 3 seats all together instead of being separated by an aisle. I'm not too fussed about the proximity to a toilet - I've got hideous all day long morning sickness right now, so that will be a bonus for me!
