Apologies if this has been covered before. Done a search but didn't find the answer.

Can anyone tell me whether you need to print anything when using the on-line check in? Reason I ask is that I was planning to do this in the 'Internet Exchange' at Gatwick because, living a long way from the airport, we will have left home more than 24 hours before our flight departs, and I'm not certain they will have a facility to print.

Thanks !

Phil, could you not do Twilight check in if you'll be at Gatwick anyway?

Sorry if I've totally missed the point!

Hi Miffy,

I've thought about that so many times !

I just don't think it would work for us. Car will no longer be accessible by that point so we would have to take all dirty clothes, toiletries etc. with us as hand luggage. Too much stuff I'm afraid. We are not a family who travels light :-)

Hi UKPhill,

We did twilight check-in and to avoid taking our overnight things on the place with us we booked one night car parking at the Gatwick Hilton. This meant that we could dump our things in the car which DH took to long term parking the morning of our flight, we waited for him in the GHilton lobby and then made our way to the airport together. This worked out really well for us and might be something for you to consider.

Also consider this; when you return from Orlando it is quite a struggle to get the (tired) family and the luggage on the bus that takes you to the long term car park so just send one person, minus any luggage, to get the car whilst the rest of your party wander, with the luggage, back through to the GHilton where they can enjoy a cup of tea whilst they wait to be collected. Far more civilised!

Thanks for the advice but assuming we don't do twilight (we may not even be there in time to use it), do we need to print anything to use the on-line check in?

If you have your E-Ticket numbers and booking reference you should be able to access the "Manage my flights" section on the Virgin Atlantic website. From here, you can proceed to online check-in and choose your seats (or confirm your previously chosen seats).

I would print off your E-ticket confirmation e-mail just to be safe. If you did not book directly with Virgin Atlantic, or through Virgin Holidays, I do not think you can use the online check-in service, although I may be wrong.
