Virgin miles

We just used 100,000 air miles to book our inward journey from Orlando next May flying PE for 3 of us and an infant. I thought that was pretty good although our outbound flights cost us £2000 In premium economy! If I were to have just paid for the inbound flight the total would have been £2,900 so I saved us £900.

Did you have to pay any extra for the inward flights? I am confused as to why you need to pay and use miles??
Or did you book these directly as PE flights using miles?
