I have been looking on the Virgin website and have noticed quite a few miles+money deals, but not many from Manchester! Why? and also are their ever any deals like this to be had during busier times like whitsun or summer/late summer? as this is when we are planning to go.I have about 17,000 miles and 4 tier points so far.:confused3

When are you going?:confused3 They have them on for november just a shame i havnt got the money for them otherwisw would have bought them

Hiya.

I got 6 PE M+M seats for our forthcoming October trip 4 hours after they were released. We also fly out of Manchester. It cost me 45000 plus £4600.00which I was happy to pay :thumbsup2

Yes, I literally set my alarm for 4am on our 11month out window.

At the time I was unable to allocate our seats due to the new seating plans not yet been released, I therefore logged on possibly 14 hours later to see if the seats were yet available to allocate and there was no M+M seats left:confused3

1 week later the cost of economy was more than my PE seat.

My conclusion was that if you definately want to spend your miles, anywhere near school holidays (like us), or on any specific dates, get up early and book when your 11 month window opens.

I hoped for a "deal" to happen for us last year flighing out of MAN using our miles, I waited and waited but nothing came to light, if anything the prices increased on what seemed like a daily basis. We ended up cancelling our trip which is why I was so paranoid about making sure I did not miss my M+M seats for this year.

Good luck

Just curious, what time of day do they go on sale on the day of you 11 month window

No idea really on an exact time, I think it changes daily.

I once checked the website at 12.10am, therefore just 10 minutes into the next day (if that makes sense) and the 11 month window day was still not up and available to book.

Like I say in my previous post, I set my alarm for 4am to book our flights on my 11 month window day and they were there, available to book.

My only previous experience was that, as an early riser, I would check around 5.30am each morning around a month before by 11 month window and at that time all the seats were available to book for the 11months window day.

Thanks for the info
We want to book for May 2012 so it will be June before we can start pricing the flights.
I am sooooooo impatient

I dont think its essential to book at 11 months but then i wouldnt leave it till 2 months before. Its a case of looking and keep looking until u see a price ur happy with. We hv been in school holidays and booked 4 months before and had a price lower than the 11 month window BUT it was a tedious task of looking every day every couple of hours for a few days and believe me the prices were up and down like a yo yo.
Like fairy said its a tough call when to book and she had to cancel her trip because of ridiculous prices.good luck and just keep looking
