Anyone got any good tips on the best tactics to get the flights you want?

go in November...I've never had any problem with reward flights or M+M then. We are lucky in that we can go when we want to as not tied to school hols or work commitments. This year is M+M and I am in DD!![]()
Also consider booking one way, this year we're going outbound in upper class and booked that with Virgin. The return I then waited and waited and finally got £400 one way in economy on AA which I've upgraded to extra legroom. Total price for 4 in August £3100 with probably our once in a lifetime taste of upper class! We did have a lot of miles to spend though.
Have enough to do similar but will prob do out econ back premium econ to keep cash costs down. Plus not sure a pre schooler would cope too well in a first class seat

But you'll be too stretched out asleep or too busy at the bar to notice!!!!!!!!!
You see, I wouldn't choose PE back as it's nowhere near the benefit of the daytime flight. With a dark cabin and a much reduced cabin service, you might as well be in economy I'd say. With a little one, the extra space in the bump on the 747 is worth it's weight during the day even now they've crammed all those economy seats in (the main reason we avoid Virgin now to be fair, I think that was a disgustingly cynical move on Virgin's part)
I figured it would be easier to sleep in pe on the way back as i ve always slept well in pe. Ironically on last trip the plabe was so quiet we probably could have lay down in economy!!!!
I see whay you mean about missing out on stuff but sleep is my main motivation!
