Virgin flying club points....

I just did a very quick search on the VA website and there are UC "miles only" flights to Orlando from Manchester available in December! I'm amazed. Like I say, I've never found any from Gatwick...

Just out of interest - what dates did you find???

I've just been looking out of interest even though we're going to Disney Paris in December so no way we're going to Florida. 5th - 25th yields at least 1 miles only UC seat, not tried more yet. No Miles plus money.

Can't remember now, sorry - something like 5th to 19th. Like I said, I'm amazed they have them available on such a popular route AND so near to departure...

Just checked my account and I also receive extra miles when buying from Virgin Wine - just received a case and got an extra 750 miles...

how many miles do you get for a round trip to orlando and how many do you need for a 'free flight' roughly?

I earned 21680 miles from a round trip to Orlando in October and most return UC flights are 100,000 miles I think...

Edited to add: If you fly economy and and have a red VA Flying Club membership, you'll earn 8672 miles. A return LGW to MCO economy flight is usually 42500 miles tho' they have an offer on at the mo which means they are 25000 miles from 1 Jan to 28 Feb 2009...

Wow, 5th to 25th for 2 adults, one child and 1 infant is available on miles only. 232,000 miles + £847 in taxes.

Shame I've only got 50,000 miles at the mo, should have more soon though as got the Virgin Black card for business and household expenses.

Edit 1:My mistake, it's reverted to PE :(

Edit 2:310,000 + £937 for UC :|

Hmmmm, so with this in mind and my current amount of miles being 60k, I would need to fly UC this Feb which is booked (my total would then be approx 80k miles) and then UC once more before I have enough points to book yet another UC flight but if I could find suitable dates to spend my miles it would be a free flight.....

Sounds like a whole heap of UC flights to me :rotfl:

So back to thinking that I might just cash them in now :rotfl:

50,000 miles for a free economy ticket.
75,000 for a premium.
100,000 for UC.

I've just got 2 x miles + money economy tickets for £320 + 2000 miles each for Next August BH week.
I have enough miles for PE (7500) but only for one of us - the only catch is that you don't earn any miles for a miles+money tickets.:sad1:

Hiya -

we also use e-rewards and have a Marriott rewards card linked to our virgin miles account - every year we have a couple of trips to London , stay in Marriott on Tesco vouchers - you still get the reward points! It keeps the miles account active.

Got most of our points - 25000 each adult and 15000 kids for a 24 hour delay due to snow at Gatwick in April!!

We use several things to convert into VA miles-

Hilton Honors points - plus you get miles per stay aswell
Texaco star points - useful if you get a lot of petrol
Starwood Preferred Guest - Stayed at WDW dolphin a few times and got lots of starwood points.
BAA worldpoints card - useful if you spend a lot in duty free!

Also officially you shouldnt get miles for miles plus money fares but we always have?!:goodvibes

How have you managed to get your miles for m+m flights:confused: - I have to make up 3500 miles by next October as I need 8000 miles for 4 m+m tickets in 2010 - I only have 4500 atm so could really use the miles from my next (m+m) flights.

Most of mine have been from flights. Although erewards and everything else add up! We used most of ours for "free flights" in April this year and we are saving for another lot of free flights.

M+M Fares never seem worth it when we book as the difference is very little if anything. We were lucky enough to get flights for £356 a person for May where the M+M fares were only £10 cheaper so i kept hold of my miles.

So they just gave you the miles even though you'd bought m+m tickets, or did you ask for them?
My hubby has 2000 miles, do you know if they can be applied to my fc account?
My m+m flights were £320 pp x 2 for next year, the full fare was £418pp, so £196 saved seems pretty damn good.
Even if I have to buy extra miles at £60 for 3000, if I can save £98 x 4 then I'll be ecstatic!
