I apologise if this has been asked before, but not found anything. :surfweb:

We have booked Seat Plus for our return journey and we were told we can't do online check in like usual, but can go to DTD to check in.

I thought I remember reading a while ago they charged, unless you had booked a package, but the man said it's free. (We have only booked flights with Virgin)

Is he right, (not convinced after advice over reserving seats) so if you do have to pay, does anyone know how much it is?

What time do people tend to go? We usually have a late start on the last day, but can get there early if necessary.

Thanks for any advice :)

We were virgin holidays. They told us that if we had forgotten our voucher we would have been charged unless we were first class

We were virgin flight only last year and it was $10 per person for DTD check in. There were long queues from early on but once we were done it did make things much more relaxing on the last day knowing it was sorted already

Thanks, I didn't think it would be free, really wish they trained their staff better!

No queue when we did it about 9.30 am but off season. One advantage was we found out our flight was delayed by two hours which we wouldn't have so meant more time in parks

We've. Ever had a queue and we normally go about 10ish in March.

I would say make sure you are balanced with the weight as they have always been really strict. Defo do it makes it far less stressful especially when you have a kid in tow.

We did it once the other year - never again. We had to wait out in the blazing sun with no shade in a slow moving queue. Missed having the cases for last minute purchases ended up with more in hand luggage. Couldn't see any benefit.

If you are a Virgin Flying Club (or whatever their club is called) member, its free too.

We checked in at DTD on January 3rd this year at about 1030am ish, maybe 2 other families in front of us, queued for maybe 10 mins. As long as cases for each party (there were 12 of us, 4 different surnames) added up to the right weight, they were quite happy.

I guess it depends who you have!

Its so convienent, we've used it everytime. X

DTD check in is $10 per person except the following which are free:
  • Upper class passengers
  • Flying club gold members
  • Virgin holidays passengers with a voucher
  • Infants travelling without their own seat

Oh no. I thought I'd get this free with PE seats!

Thanks everyone for your replies, the main reason I want to do it is so I know our seats are sorted, then I can relax. We usually do OLCI, but can't with booking seat plus.

We are Flying Club Members, but not Gold yet, so looks like we have to pay.
