when does the virgin site usually put discounts up to 15% or 20%, is it for bank holiday weekends usually

I know they do it at Christmas and I think they do it at Easter but I wasn't aware that they did it for every bank holiday :(

Perhaps someone in the know will be able to shed a bit more light on this :sunny:

It is usually Easter or Christmas, and recently I don't remember a discount over 10%. I'm not usre I ever remember one for 20% mind you :)

There was 15% in early 2005 I think but more recently it has been 10% :(

It was 15% on Christmas day in 2005 ;)

The level of discount was dependent on when you were travelling. We booked on Christmas Day 2005 for March 2007 and the discount was 10%.

Does anyone know if you still get an additional 10% frequent flyer discount off their "dicount day" discounts (too many discounts in this sentence!).

I'm guessing probably not, because I'm sure I read somewhere that the FVC/FF discount is not applicable with any other discount . . . but you don't know if you don't ask ;)

Outside Christmas and Easter is random but sometimes ties in with a brouchure launch say Florida or Crribean, they tend to give the same as the FVC 10% or if higher sometimes there is a catch ie off adults only not kids etc.

Iit's one kind of discount per booking but you can still get the FV car upgrade even if you use the Xmas day discount. We had to rimind them about it though.

I find you have to remind them about everything and check everything it took about 10 amendments on my booking to get it right.

Nope no FVC with the 10% days but as has been said you get the car upgrade and the 10% also include fuel surcharge whereas the FVC doesn't. Only took one phone call to get ours all straight.

Sorry I don't mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if you can use the tesco clubcard deals as well as the virgin discounts? For example, if I booked at christmas for next summer and got 10/15% off could I still use around 100 worth of tesco vouchers to get an additional 400 off??

Hope someone can help, otherwise I'll give virgin a call to see if they know!

I don;t think you can as you need to ring to book and these discounts are for online bookings only, same goes for the FVC discount cannot be used with Tesco vouchers.

Ah just found this on the VH website -

Deal Tokens cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount (including FVC discount) and are valid against brochure prices that are subject to change.

Thanks for that, I'll have to research what discounts I would get on % discount days against tesco deals - I could always use them at mfi instead!

Last time we went with first choice and they were fab, their prices are coming out between 100 and 500 cheaper than the equivalent dates and details for virgin, so that would be another option for us.
