Virgin Car Hire with Debit Card

I have just come off the phone with Virgin Holidays as we are looking to hire a car with them. They have advised that there are no costs to pay at the other end only an imprint of my debit card as I am taking out the Platinum package. Also I will be able to check in online before I arrive at Orlando airport and just pick up my car. The imprint with either a credit or debit card is for any incidentials like not paying toll charges etc.

I also said that if I did have a problem would the reps at the airport be able to help, which they said they would.

Do you think I should definitely go for this - I dont want to be in a position of losing my money and no car.

Anybody had this experience already at Orlando with a debit card?

In 2008 i flew into sanford and left cards at home, i explain this to cashier on collect of my platuim package 7 seater and they let me leave cash deposit.. This was with alamo at sanford... if i remember if was $50 dollars.. came in handy on way home. paid for drink and snacks while waiting to flight home...

im also flying with virgin this year into orlando with platuim package... i was hoping to do the same.. if you hear any different let me know...
