Hi everyone I know this thread has been done a million times but can you please just confirm that for a virgin flight to orlando a person can take 2 pieces of luggage EACH weighing up to 32kg and a small piece at 5 or 6kg? I dont understand the virgin website :confused3

Also I have read that you can carry on your camcorder also in a bag and thats its not classified as your hand luggae...is this true? :earsgirl:

I go on september 1st so am VERY excited right now!

Yep, you're right 2 peices at 32 kg each (loads of luggage!!!) and as you're also entitled to one piece of carry on plus a handbag then yes, you can take your camcorder too, I've done it many times, no problem at all. :sunny:

wow so are you seying i can take hand luggae and a handbag and my camcorder on with me? how cool is that?

yeah camera bags dont count as hand luggage and neither do camcorders!!! also they dont stop you taking on carrier bags either so you can take even more then!!!

Even I can't bring enough home to put me over the Virgin limit - have come close though!!!!

Just a warning! - We have been on a couple of flights from Orlando where the staff would not allow you to have the extra carrier bags. People were told to put everything in the one bag and that it needed to be under the weight limit.

Be careful though the duty free gift allowance is only £145 per person! anything you buy over that amount you can be taxed on!!

if you're buying clothes a good way to get round this limit is to take the tags off and wash the clothes, there's no way for them to prove you didnt take them with you then!!! have done this in the past! ;)

Be careful as the ONUS is on YOU to prove that they were not bought in the US!!!

I have visited WDW every other year for many years now, so most of the summerweight holiday clothes I take with me were bought at Disney on earlier trips. Apart from underwear, my suitcases next trip will be filled almost exclusively with Disney clothes. At least the entry/exit stamps in my passport will show I could have bought them on earlier trips.

I tend to just go through the Red lane and declare.

On my last 3 trips to the US, I have come back with about $1000 worth of clothes, DVDs, software etc. Usuaully I am waved through. The last trip, I had to pay £19.25 VAT on the new digital camera. And loads of people were being stopped and searched in the Green lane

It's just not worth the hassle.
