Just had e mail from Virgin Atlantic to say that there will be a sale on many flights from tomorrow morning to 23rd June to celebrate their 25th birthday (22nd June).

Hope somebody may bag a bargain - fingers crossed.

Claire

Sale prices now live.
Thought I had found great prices for Xmas but just checked again and gone.

I'd just been looking for Chritmas too Wayne and it's 500.00 each on Christmas day for Manchester. Not much of a sale for good old Manchester, as usual.

Just looked at my flights in Nove, ber.
Good saving on what I thought was a good price already!
I paid £3,700 for the three of us in UC, now down to £2,950
(BA by the way, £4,200!)

So a great price.
Still not unhappy, I was happy with the price when i booked, and thats what really matters.

We just booked for Sat 28th November - Economy for us unfortunately :)
£356 a person. - Cheaper than the £420 it was last week so im happy!

The later flight, is it the VS 015?
I ususally go for the early flight but the cheaper fares must have gone as it was nearly £50 a person more expensive.

Yes, the VS 15, dep 12:55 arr 17:20

We are on the VS27.
Both flights are showing quite a few empty seats at the moment, we could end up an a single flight! :goodvibes

On yours there are only
36 seats in Economy booked!
PE has 3 people in it and
UC 11

On our VS 27
70 seats booked in econony
26 in PE
7 in UC (Just gone up by 2)

£3700 for THREE of you??? WOW you got an amazing deal!
Seeing as Orlando is not included in this Upper sale the price is £1649pp today.
I thought I had missed out again (booked on the last sale) but that we got a better price than whats on there now. Not as good as you though Obi.

make no wonder they need to have a sale!! I can't believe how empty the flights are.

How can you tell how many seats have been sold?

WOW! Just checked normal booking! Something must have happened last night!
Now its showing for our dates £5,009.80! Hell of a difference from £2,900!

Also, PE has gomne from £850 last night to £758.60

Seriously confused now!

There are some web sites that have real time booking information on them. No names, just seats free/taken

Obi, I would have to imagine that was some kind of pricing error on Virgin's website. £2900 for three makes it under a thousand per person and I have never, even during sales (which usually do not include Orlando :headache:) seen a fare in Upper under one thousand per person.
Would be nice though hey, now THAT would be a good 25th Birthday sale!

My thoughts also.
Only two people have booked on our flight in UC since the sale came on, maybe they jumped at the mistake!

Was also waiting patiently for the sale as we are also leaving on Nov 28th...wanted to book economy and take the earlier flight but by the time I checked it had gone up to 426 pounds which I dont consider a 'sale' price...so did I compromise and take the later flight...of course not...I just booked the earlier flight in premium economy returning in economy :) approx 560 pounds which I consider fair (both departing flights were giving me the same PE price)....last year flew PE both ways for 690 pounds (after upgrading from economy) and I have a sneaky feeling the 140-160 or so pounds to upgrade the return to PE wont seem so much in 3 or 4 months time, so another upgrade maybe in order....

Sadly, only 4 out of the 10 of my family members were able to book the sale fare, as my sis and her family have to wait till she gets her vacation approved...just hope Virgin have another sale towards the end of the summer for her to take advantage of....

I managed to get our flights for £328.50 each for January 7-14th 2010. Heading out to do the marathon so very thrilled to have got a deal in without having to use any miles. Whoop.

I'm secretly hoping they might extend the free dining, but it seems unlikely. Anyone heard any rumours!?!?!
