Virgin Atlantic problems!

So,had they given you a refund when it was cancelled and you just not noticed? You said he's given you the baggage back for free, but didn't mention if you discovered the refund anywhere? Just curious.

Also less inclined to fly with them now if the ability to pay for excess baggage isn't guaranteed even if you pay for it. I'm a chronic overpacker and shopper on holiday.

We usually fly BA with reward points, but have looked into Virgin in case BA flights weren't available.

All airlines reserve the rights to reject extra baggage. The only way to guarantee is to fly the next class up.

Is in my experience the worst thing you can do. No one takes any ownership of the problem on their social media team, they just fob you off with standard responses.

Best bet is to get on the phone :)

I had the opposite, when we had issues they actually sorted them for us.
Where as on the phone we was told nothing could be done.we ended up with a refund too.

Ok so I received a message, he apologised as there was a note on the system to contact me at the end of August regarding the changes they had made and there was no note on the system to say that anyone has tried to contact me, but he said the extra baggage can be withdrawn from the flights at any time, and a refund is given if this is the case, however he has added extra baggage for the flights for me free of charge so this I am obviously very thankful for but to be fair I was more worried about the extra seat, he did also say he has emailed the relevant department for me regarding seat plus to see if this can also be given back to me but he will have to wait for the reply, here's to hoping, although I won't get my hopes up too much.

Can I ask how much you paid for seat plus originally?

The ultimate is to email their customer relations and act like a dog with a bone. They soon sort things out then!!

Thanks. As we usually fly BA and use points or upgrade with points we've never run into the problem. And we've always been able to pre purchase extra bags when checking in (they encourage it by making it cheaper than at the airport), but have only used the option once.

If he has a separately ticketed seat he can have an infant chair put on his seat and then he can be restrained in that during the times the seat belt sign is on.

Sadly no longer they've gotten rid of the toddler seats, you would have to take your own compatible car seat now.

£60 I believe.
