Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy

They have some PE seats downstairs but the majority are in the pod upstairs on the 747-400. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the map, wouln't like to get seats in rows 81 or 82 close to the main WC's but I don't suppose I could specify upper deck seats ?

Yes you can. Virgin allow you to select your own seats once you have booked. If you book through a travel agent you may have to wait until you check in but you would still be able to select upper deck seats.

Actually we sat in those seats through choice and they were fine ..... only problem being the stewards and stewardesses yapped between themselves all the way home and they were right behind us which was really flipping annoying :mad: Service was not that good either so I think we simply had a poor flight crew. Wouldnt hesitate to book those seats again though

I've booked PE for September direct with VA and you can select your seats straight after booking on the VA site :)

I also booked on VA site and selected our seats.

I've sat in PE downstairs in the front row which are GREAT! About 6ft of leg room!

But this time I chose upstairs as I've never been upstairs on a plane before. :)

Sounds good.I'll book on the VA webste and hopefully get to choose our seats.
Thanks for the help.:)

Don't know if this is any use to you, but when I was booking our November flights at the end of January, a box appeared on the screen asking if I would like to 'discuss' my booking with someone. I said 'yes' as I was particularly keen to get row 80 in PE and wanted to know if they were available on the date I was looking at. After introductions in a dialogue box, 'Jane' found the information I was looking for. I was impressed.

Last year we booked late for November and ended up in the middle row downstairs PE for the return journey - I would not want that to happen again!

As far as changing seats in PE as soon as OLCI opens, I have NEVER been successful with this. Always get the message that PE is full and therefore cannot be done.

.....

We have booked middle of the upstairs cabin. I was think of row 80 which is still empty but wondered about the space behind the seat. I couldn't imagine that the rear row in PE would have restricted recline but didn't want to take the risk.

Can anyone say whether 80 HK is a good row? Should I move us from 77AC?

Steve

I've booked the back row upstairs (in front of the staircase) as I was told by a few people on here that it has extra room and a little table that the other rows don't!

Yes it has next to the isle seat - this is my favourite place as DD goes by the window and I have somewhere to put my drink down without here knocking it over!

I am panicking a little over our outbound flight in May as we have not seats pre-booked as it was full upstairs when we booked and only 3 downstairs. I hoping that as these have gone now we will be upstairs.

I have moved us on the trip out to row 80 but it looks like they may be preparing to change the flight or time on the return as the seat map has now locked. It was hardly full a week or so back and they have just change the outbound flight to 2 hours earlier. I'll try and get the seat in front of the stairs is available when it opens again.

we had those 2 seats flying back one year they were so good.
coupled with the fact there were only about 20 people in the whole upper pe section on the way home it was even better.

To the person that said when can you pick the seats. When I rang and booked the 2 seats, the guy on the phone actually asked me if I wanted them in the bubble upstairs or downstairs.

Then when it came to looking at the seat seating plan it took me straight to the plan of upstairs

Hi everyone

It's so long since I posted on these boards I have had to re-register.

Question.

I will be travelling out to Florida in August, travelling PE, thought it would be nice for the kids to go in the bubble. I see the seats are 2 + 2 configuration and wondered which would be the preferred row. There are four of us travelling.

This is assuming of course that there is a bubble on the aircraft from Gatwick to Orlando.

Thanks

Welcome back.
Depends which flights you are on.
London Gatwick – Orlando VS027/028 is the new A330-300 with no bubble.

Hi Wayneg

Thanks for that, am I right in thinking then its a 2 + 4 + 2 configuration then.

Ermmm haven't actually booked the tickets yet!

I had read that different time slots/days ran the different aircraft and was thinking of booking my flights around that.

My preference is for the earlier flight going out, and possibly the later flight coming back. Not that I sleep that well on the way back, this time though I have to drive us back from Gatwick as hubby is stationed abroad and he will be meeting us out there and then going straight back to work.

Even got to do the flipping packing myself - not something I normally get involved with as the suitcase normally resembles Mount Everest when I pack. I just make sure all the clothes are washed and ironed ready to be packed.

Back to flights, I was looking at Saturdays (easier for villa rentals) but there aren't any flights showing as available - guess that means all the PE seats have been sold.
