Hi everyone!

I'm tentatively planning my next Disney trip, and I'm hoping to go with Virgin Atlantic, and stay in Port Orleans Riverside.

Looking at their brochure, they class Riverside and French Quarter as the same resort, and I wondered if I'm able to specify which I'd like to stay in.

Also, how are they with room requests. I really want to stay in Magnolia Bend (and strut about pretending to be Scarlett O'Hara! :teeth: ), if I book through Virgin, can I note this on my booking, like I can when I book direct with Disney?

Thankyou for your help! :)

You could always book a fly drive with Virgin and then book the accomdaoin direct with Disney. If you are a member of the AA then you will get a discount, and iof you are staying a while and it is worth getting an annual pass you may be able to get a better disount, depending on the time of year you go.

If you book seperalty you will also have the option of adding on the dining plan if you want it, as Virgin do not do it, but that will mean no discounts.

I don`t know about booking through Virgin but they are very good at POR with room requests. We`ve always got where we wanted - usually Magnolia Terrace, which we love. We just ask at check in.
Good luck :sunny:

Thankyou for the quick replies! :)

I'm keen to book the whole trip with Virgin because I get a 10% discount (Frequent Virgin), but with the amount I eat over there :rolleyes2, it might be more economical to get the dining plan.

Suzi - do price it up separately too. Even with a 10% discount it has been cheaper for us to book flights with VA and hotel with WDW.

Can you say annual pass discount? ;)

Hi there!

Virgin will do the dining plan if you book park passes for your length of stay with them. However they are more expensive than disney direct for both, so you may want to get those park passes and dining plan from disney if you book the room with disney.

I have booked a package holiday with virgin staying on property and they did take up to 3 room requests which are noted on my booking. Don't know if I will get them though,

Happy planning,
Claire xx

I have booked it all separately and gone with Disney for the dining plan - it is so worth it - you dont have to worry about the money for food as you just have what you want off the menus and know that the food is paid for!

Just a note about room requests if you are going to book the package through Virgin Holidays. If you call Disney directly and ask for your requests, they will be unable to assist as your reservation will not be on their system until just a few days/weeks before your stay.

The best way to make requests is directly with Virgin, who *should* pass them on to Disney with your reservation. I don't think the success rate for room requests made through VA is as high as those made directly with Disney, but it is worth a shot. It worked for us when we booked our first trip through Virgin in 2000.
