Virgin have some prices online for next Summer.
Just looked at Fairfield Inn for 24 nights for 2 adults and 1 teen £4,468:rotfl2: In economy
Won't be Virgin for me again next August.

Hi Wayne

I know what you mean.:confused3

We always go in December for 3wks and at the moment Virgin want near double what we paid last year for half the baggage allowance!!!:scared1:

Think they will be looking at empty planes at this rate!!

Hotel is worth about £800 so they are charging £1,200-1300pp for economy flights. Last time we did VH & Fairfield it cost us £580pp (Xmas Holidays 08)

This August paying £1,100 more (£5,600) but business class flights and OKW with free DDP. Dread to think what VH OKW is going to be, they wanted £6,000 this August, expecting £7,000 next summer but we will see.

People pay the price though so they will keep asking the high prices.

I think this year will be our last holiday for a few years to be honest.

They have some Oct 11 prices on, still in preview though some maybe not hotels you want. Just checked 18th Oct for a week and it gave me options.

We want flydrive only Wayne, as we have a cruise booked and will be using our DVC for the remainder

Unfortunately I think a few will be saying that with current prices, we have cut to 2 trips this year, next year probably just the 1 trip in August. So looking forward to going out of school hols in a few years.

Ah yes flydrive prices not online yet but they are available by phone as far as I know.

I'm looking for August 2011, isn't vh more expensive though for flight and car compared to va?? I have never booked with vh because their prices are so high whenever I look, do they ever have bargains?

Xmas 08 we did VH at £580pp, flydrive was £700, VA flight only £900 so yes they do sometimes have offers./bargains that beat DIY but probably easier to find a needle in a haystack. :goodvibes

How did you get £580 when the flydrive was £700? I thought you had to do flydrive with vh when you go through the booking even though you don't have to take the car - or am i just being thick :rotfl:

2 seperate things a flydrive or a package with hotel, you price up one or the other. Flydrive prices are not related to package prices.

I was quoted a flydrive price of £2400 for economy 2 adults 1 child 14 nights Aug. That is without insurance, we don't want a car. Flights with charter travel are able to be provisionally booked for £729 per adult and £609 per child. Charter travel said prices could increase a few pound but shouldn't change more than £20 per person.

I suppose if I wait and book direct with virgin I might get a miles and money flight for about £650 each. Seeing as free dining and discounts won't be released until about Aug anyway I might aswell wait and see what the VA direct prices are.

Hopefully they will stick to quoted prices, last year they upset a few people by charging more than quoted prices. People were booking under the impression the prices were fixed, looks like they now warn the prices might change.

Yes, Norman's saying that too. Much to my annoyance. After last years great deal, I thought I'd be able to go each year, but this year's prices have put paid to that.
Still hoping that it will change for 2011.

we too have decided that this year is the last year for a few years, we need to pay off credit cards, replace our windows etc, and will have a cheap holiday in 2011 with tesco card points, prob italy camping....
