Little but if trip info before I tell you what's changed.......

We are going to Orlando April 27-May1. We are staying at the Hilton I believe on Internatiinal drive maybe for 2 nights and no car during this trip.
My husband has a training there and will be busy all day until 10 pm each evening so I thought I'd tag along and just do Disney alone for 2 days and then we are moving over to Portofino Bay hotel at Universal for 2 nights to do Universal and IOA together. I planned a VIP thrill Ride experience for myself on Friday to cover more area and thought it would be more fun since I'll be alone and it's not something I'd normally fork the money out for entire group to do because of expense. I've been to WDW many tims but always with entire family. So here's the little wrench that's been thrown in my plans.......

I have a broken leg. I'm on week 2 with fracture and if everything goes well ( I find out tomor about timeline for sure) I should be able to weight bear by then but will not of started my physical therapy I don't think yet or possibly will of only gone 2-3 times by the time we leave.

I will need a ECV for sure to make this doable by myself and I'm sure leg will still be swelling etc so I need to figure out ways to make this all work.
Does anyone know if I can still do the VIP Thrill ride Tour? I would be able to transfer from electric to wheelchair to ride for short distances. I could definitely do that part with crutches too but doubt I'll be dragging those along if I have the chair. I'm trying to figure out all th logistics as far as getting to uber vehicle from Hilton , ( I suspect I'd crutch to the car) then upon arrriva, at park get a blue chair to get to ECV rental then could I leave my crutches there for for the day ?

Another option would b to rent an ECV off site but I've read where the ones that breakdown to fit into a car dont last as many hours and I'll be alone so that doesn't work very well for me. This is all new to me and I'm just trying to think through how to make this work.

If arriving to Epcot via Uber suggestions on front or back entrance at world showcase to simplify also? Cab it to Boardwalk maybe? I think there might be a rental place close to there ???? Again i dont know.

About the tour I would call the tour number and ask them I did it last year and I think you would be ok if you used an ECV the only thing is you go from park to park in a vain so having an ECV that needs to break down will be time consuming and the tour is very fast past

I can let you know more about the tour latter tonight

I don't think they allow ECV on the tour. Do you think I could manage it with regular wheelchair without someone to help push. Any other suggestions if I can't do this tour?

this is why I would call and see.

one thing you can do is do a good touring plan you could RD HS go on RnR TOT and then TSMM use the express service to go to EPCOT and have a FP for FEA,and tow other or go to AK and have FP for EE and dianasours starting around 11:30 ( I really would do EPCOT as I think you could get FP for the two rides at AK) then go to MK last as I think this park is the easiest to get 5 or higher FP at. it would take you longer for sure then if you did the VIP tour. like all day but I think you could do it and you could then rent an ECV from off site and just use this

about the ECV that break down not lasting this is not true they will last as long as you turn them off when sitting ( even for a minute) and also some ECV are meant for people that weight under 200 pounds ( stuff that you put on it counts too) and some people are over this weight or them and their stuff is making the batteries work more and drawing them faster ( or this is what I was told) so if you do get the ECV that is right for you and try not to over pack it yes a some bag with would you would have carried with you would be fine but do not go oh I can take XYZ since I am not carrying it.

I hope this helps

Unless you are used to pushing yourself for miles everyday in a chair, you will be miserable in short order. Don't ruin your fun trip with sore, achy arms - it really is more difficult than you might think.

This also might not be the time to do this tour. :-(
If you can get around, how will your cast fit in the ride?
Will it get banged around?
Will it get hot and sweaty being in a cast?
What if you are not feeling well half way through the tour?

i cancelled the tour. They don't allow ECV since they transfer you to 3 parks. I get my cast off 2 days before I leave for Orlando and will be in a brace and using crutches as needed. I have no idea how much I'll need them sine I can't put any wait on it until them. I'll start physical therapy when I return from the trip since I won't if had time to do since I leave 2 days after I get to finally weight bear on this darn thing.
I booked the VIP classics ride tour at MK. Not really what I wanted but it will still be fun sinc I'll be alone. Decided to rent an ECV off site from scooter up to make getting to and from the pa king lots easier. I think I'll have shuttle drop me off at the contemporary on my MK day and boardwalk on the Epcot day to make this a little easier too.

Disappointing but it really sounds like you made the right choice
