:confused3 Does anyone know what it means to be upgraded to "VIP" status while staying at HRH??:goodvibes Thanks.I was told some of the perks, but not all...anyone??:thumbsup2

Please elaborate. I have been a VIP a few times, but have yet to figure out what it means. I know because we saw our names listed as VIP on the housekeeping charts attached to their carts, and one time a bartender called the front desk about us, and he was informed we were VIPs. We don't know what it means, but we had a "1" on our room key cards each time we were VIPs. Tell us what some of the perks are! :goodvibes

Don't know yet all of the perks ...guess we'll know more upon check-in in aug. Will let you know what happens!:goodvibes

Having been a VIP at RPR, we usually received an extra welcome gift from a manager. At HRH when we were VIPs, we got nothing like that. Oh, and at RPR, a manager was supposed to come out and greet us at check-in. At HRH, we used the Express Check-in so no manager greet. That's it. Those are the only differences I've ever noticed being a VIP, so I'm curious to find out what happens when you get there. I mean, we didn't get white glove treatment or anything.

On our last stay at PB we had the "!" VIP room keys also. On our first night back to the room we had beer and nuts , fruit and water, cookies and milk, a bottle of chilled wine waiting for us. There was a Spiderman gift basket filled with a spiderman beach towel, a spiderman flashlight, spiderman football and various other things for our son. There was also an envelope with four vouchers for the breakfast buffet downstairs. We were there three nights and every night there were vouchers and some kind of gift waiting for us.

I don't get it. How do you become a VIP? Is it random or does it have something to do with your Loew's First card and the number of times you've stayed there?

It can't be Loews status. This was only our second stay at Universal and we are still Blue.

I don't think anyone knows how you become a VIP. There is no becoming a "VIP member" as far as I can tell. One visit you're a VIP, the next visit you may not be.

I can tell you the first time we were VIPs, we were at the RPR. We had had a crummy stay at the PBH and were offered a free night to come back. We turned it down as we had no interest at the time in returning to the PBH. Since we turned down a free night at PBH and made our ressies at RPR instead, the RPR manager at the time sent us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and left us his business card leaving us instructions to contact him should we need anything. That's where we first noticed our room number on the VIP chart on the housekeeping cart.

After that, we loved the RPR. We only ever stayed RPR Club, and we developed friendships with the staff there. We probably earned our VIP status there through several stays, positive feedback, keeping in touch with staff, gifts to them that the club manager always made a point of showing off to "upper management" as she liked to call it, etc.

At the HRH, I believe we were VIPs simply because we were Platinum and paid a qualifying rate. At any rate, we received nothing extra that we would not have received otherwise for being Plats.

I can tell you that the only thing I've noticed in being a VIP v. non-VIP is our room location and/or view have been better when the views have been variable when we were VIPs. When we weren't VIPs and the room views/locations were variable, then our rooms didn't have the most desirable views/locations (e.g., RPR Club, HRH King Suite).

i had VIP status only one time out of 18 stays at hrh.

it was determined by the manager of the hotel for our vip status on that stay.

we were given a free upgrade to club deluxe for the 4 nights there.

received a lot of nice perks from the manager.
soda, food, free movies, candies, popcorn, tins, park passes, wine, etc.
few other things but don't remember all right now.

We have 1's on our cards now. The amenity was delivered by one of those room service carts and included a huge basket filled with chips, candy bars, fruit, etc. It was huge.

while you are there, ask why you have the #1 on your card.
