Ok, Can someone tell me the differcne between the express pass and the VIP tickets. What do you get with them? what are the advantages?:confused3

if you stay onsite at one of the 3 hotels, you are allowed unlimited usage of the express lines for rides and shows.
no additional cost for the epp.

if you are staying off site and just a day guest, you can buy the express pass plus online or at guest services.
those epp's allow you to go on the rides/shows once only.

check the prices online based on date and park.
they are date and park related.

vip tickets costs are also on the UO site.
it covers your ticket and unlimited express.
it also is date and park related and costly if going in a high volume season.

but, if there are a few in your group that are doing the parks, it usually is cheaper to rent a room onsite for one night than to buy the vip tickets.

stay onsite one night, receive 2 days of unlimited usage for express lines.

Express Plus passes are once through the line for each participating attraction...it does not include your park admission.

VIP Express tickets are unlimited use of the Express lines and includes your park admission.

Onsite hotel guests receive unlimited Express but you do not have to stay onsite to purchase VIP Express tickets. I would only consider it during the busiest times of the year.

I am planning on visiting universal Aug 20-21 mon and tues. (one day each park) 2 adults 7 y.o. 1 yr old. (we already are staying in an offsite timeshare for the week)Should we book a room or purchase the express pass ? On my last visit to universal several years ago in march purchasing the express pass would not have been worth it as there were very little lines. Opinions Thanks

You will probably be OK without Express but you won't know until you get there and see the lines for yourself. It would be expensive to book a room for the night and then not need the EP. But you would get unlimited Express access if you have an onsite room so...

It's a tough call to be sure.
