So my family and I got Vip viewing for illuminations while we are there next week( ). We got it in Italy and I wonder if it is worth it to use it and if Italy is a good spot to see the show. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

We have watched it from England and it was well worth in the VIP area. I think Italy will be just as good.

If it is where I think it is, you will have a fantastic view!!! We had VIP for our anniversary and it was the best view in EP and I think we've tried them all!! Have a fabulous time and enjoy your good fortune!!

Yes, the view from Italy is very good.

There are also many other spectacular places to see the show.
Each of them has its own set of virtues.

But, Italy's view IS very nice.

If you'd like to see a version of the show shot from 8 different vantage points around the WS Lagoon (one of them is from Italy)...

Here are the links to a multi-camera version of the show that I shot and edited.

Sorry that the quality must be so severely reduced for posting on the web.

How do you get these VIP spots? Is it through Grand Gatherings, or is it available to the general public??

We got to watch form there one time after doing the Undiscoverd Future World Tour. It was very nice. It was great not to have to stake out a spot really early. We got to Italy around 8:45.

We took the UnDISCOVERed Future World tour last month, which entitled us to come back and use the Italy VIP area for Illuminations that night. It really is worth it. You get an excellent view of the show, and they really limit the number of people who come in. We got there around 8:15 and the CM told us, "go ahead and look around in the world showcase for another half hour. There's really no reason to come in this early." When we came back, there was still plenty of room at the rail.

We didn't know about the VIP viewing area until the end of the tour when they told us. We actually had our Fantasmic dining package that night. I couldn't cancel that because of the 48 hour cancellation policy, so we went over the MGM for dinner, but then decided to go back to Epcot for Illuminations. We'd already done Fantasmic earlier in the week, and decided to use the Illuminations VIP area instead. (We made a honeymoon couple we saw in the park very happy with the Fantasmic passes.)
