Are VIP fast passes only given to those in suites or to all empire state rooms ? Have read conflicting information on this and think I'd rather save the extra money for treats etc and get a standard room if no VIP fast pass on empire state rooms. Anyone been in empire state room recently ?

Hi, as far as I know, you get VIP Fastpasses with all suites and Empire State Rooms. The Empire State rooms however are exactly the same as standard rooms. The only difference is that they are on a separate floor (6, I think) and have a separate breakfast area on the same floor, where the characters visit. It is then used as a lounge for soft drinks/tea and light refreshements in the afternoon.

If you don't think you'd use that or the FP then you're as well having a standard room.

How much would it be to change/upgrade from a standard to Empire State room?

Steve

Would also like to know the rough price difference if anyone has any experience of booking/upgrading to Empire State rooms.

I was searching on google and found another website - disneylandparisdirect.com - It's an independant site. I did a dummy booking and it shows prices for Empire State rooms, unlike the official Disney site. It was almost double the standard rate. It also gives prices for suites etc :scared1:

I think it's probably accurate as the basic rate is roughly the same as booking on the official site.

It's a lot extra - but in high season, if you can afford it, the VIP fastpasses alone would be worth it. Although you can buy these from the concierge at the hotel. Don't know current prices but I'm sure someone once said they were about 80E per day per person :scared1:

I looked at that too :lmao: If I remember correctly I was quoted around £1050Empire State standard room for 3 nights in Dec Thurs arrival, hth x

Thanks for all the replies. With the fast passes and seeing characters at breakfast might be worth it, although can maybe just buy fast passes for couple days of stay. Will need 2 rooms as 5 of us and for same price as DLH standard can get the empire state at HNY. Trying for Xmas week so felt we would benefit from fast passes as might be a wee bit busy ;) decisions decisions !

.
We're the same, two rooms needed as 5 of us.

Remember, you will still see the characters in the hotel lobby each morning. It's not normally very busy.

Just thinking - if you stay at DLH instead you will all get 1 fastpass each, per day as standard. Would this sway your decision? Also, if it were me, I'd choose DLH at this time of year (and I love the HNY) purely on location. I hear it's very, very cold in winter and you'll probably appreciate being close to the park to pop back every now and then if you need to.

Good luck deciding :goodvibes
