I thought there was NO WAY I was going to get into them. I even looked at pics and and said, 'what's the big deal?'. Then I saw the Muppets ones and it was all over :sad2:

%$@! why are they so cute?! Like I need another Disney thing to collect!

They have no appeal to me now and I hope I can say the same thing six months from now! :sad2::rolleyes::sad2:

Remember, both WDW and DLR are doing vinyl trading at most stores on property and in the Orlando airport. If you get doubles or one you don't like, use one of the trading options. They have two: (1) a clear case with three you may pick from or (2) mystery trading where you pick a number from a black case of doors and you get the corresponding vinyl. It's a lot of fun! :)

FYI, I hated vinyls when they first came out, but they really improved their designs. I am so excited for the ones coming out in the next few months. :thumbsup2

I think the overwhelming presence of Vinylmation in the parks and resorts is insane. You can't turn around without tripping on a display for them. Yes, some of them are very cute but I would never, ever buy one unless I got it on ebay. I'm not spending money on a sealed box without knowing what is inside. That holds absolutely zero appeal to me. My wife and I did take note of a couple that we really liked and I may buy them on ebay for gifts for her but again, I would never spend my money blindly not knowing what I was getting.

All of that said, the Vinylmation store at Westside is pretty cool. I love the table with the clear top filled with figures and the giant sculpture of Mickey made out of figures. Worth a trip over there just to see those things.

I just ordered 4 of them from the Disney website. Oh, I hope I get Rowlf!!! :D

That is who I'm hunting for, for my DBF. I also like the Sleeping Beauty Cutester. I am 2 away from completing my Urban 2 set. I had gotten the chaser on one of my first purchases ever of Vinylmations. I do, however, have 5 to trade when I'm in WDW in about a month.

@ disneySteve- I can see your side of throwing $ away for something you might already have. For me, that's what is great about it. Yeah, you might be disappointed because you got one that you already have, but you can always trade.

@ Dale-Not-Chip- trading is very easy. When I was in DL there were these girls at the trading counter and I was able to trade with them. Plus the CM's are really nice and will ask you what you are looking for and if they have it, will give it to you, as long as there isn't a line waiting to trade. They are really only supposed to do a single trade.

Sorry, don't know how to do multiple quotes.

My DS7 started collecting them when we were down there last year. He can't wait for to go back and get more. I must say I am totally into them too!

Either that or something that I don't want. I realize they can be traded, but carrying around a bunch (or even a few) Vinylmation figures to trade isn't nearly as easy as carrying around a bunch of pins to trade.
