Is the Vineyard Room open for lunch? We will be there in Sept and would love to go there for lunch or a very early dinner. If they are not open for lunch, when do they open for dinner? Also, I keep reading mixed reviews for Napa Rose, is it worth it or no? Thanks!Sus:)

Two excellent questions that I would like to know about as well.

Vineyard Room is in DCA, so it should be open for lunch. I hope so.

I wanted to eat there and Napa Rose. I'm going to probably do both, but not on the same day.

BriarRosie, Good point about it being in DCA and thus, should be open for lunch, but I wanted to know for sure. Thanks!Sus:)

Sorry to burst your bubble guys. The Vinyard Room (the formal upstairs dining room) is only open for dinner. Lunch hours there were cut as part of DCA rollbacks due to poor park attendence. The Wine Country Tratoria (downstairs patio dining) is open for lunch. I hightly reccomend the Vinyard Room for a very memorable and very expensive dinner. It offeres a spectaular view of the Electical Light Parade. I have never tried the Tratoria, but I've looked at their menu a few times and haven't been very impressed with it.

If you want to see the Electrical Light Parade what time would you make a PS and what are the best seats?

I would make a PS for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half before the parade begins. I think nearly all of the tables offer a great view of the parade route (the resturant is multi tiered), but to be safe ask for a "window" seat. You will also be rewarded with some stunning views of Paradise Pier

I love these boards-thanks for the info!

I was afraid of that! It is really starting to scare me all of the details of how much DCA is suffering and the resulting cutbacks, along with the regular closings for rehab that occur in Sept., more of which I discover every day, it seems. The Trattoria looks fun, but I do want the Vineyard Room. I appreciate the heads up and will also try to get a PS for Parade time. If I knew when that was, it would help, but I guess I will have to wait for the Sept schedule. Thanks:)

When the Golden Vine was run by Mondavi, my DH & I ate there often. They had marvelous food. But now......The Trattoria is a pale shadow & I don't think it is very good. We have been unable to eat in the Vineyard room since it has changed hands. It is either closed, or has a private party. I suggest calling now to find out if it is open during the time you would like to eat there.

The wine tasting on the patio is great!

Napa Rose.....I love Napa Rose. The wine is excellent, they will even let you sample a few b4 you buy. The service is usually excellent. I can't say always, b/c in the many times we have eaten in the dining room or the lounge, we have had 2 bad servers, but only 2. You must try the Scharfenberger chocolate pate. Oh my gosh, if you like chocolate.....My DH & I often go for apps. & the pate dessert for dinner in the lounge. Yum! Even at 10 minutes b4 they close they will let you eat.

I recommend the Napa Rose, but be prepared to pay $$$. So, make it an evening, relax & just enjoy yourselves.

Sounds awesome!! We are big chocaholics here! Thanks.

You will have a great time @ DL. If you have never been here b4, just remember that it is smaller than WDW. It is the original, so it is a little different. But, it's still my fav.
They are changing the operating hours for DCA the Sun. 27th. I think they are now closing @ 9pm. DL should still be open late, but after Labor day things go onto a winter schedule, they may close DL @ 8pm & DCA @ 6pm. So then there would be no ELP or Fantasmic.
The best thing is to call & ask. Either way there is so much to do @ the hotels, & DTD. One of our fav things to do is to sit outside @ the UVA bar (in DTD) eat & people watch. Or go to Hook's Cellar in the DLH & relax w/a glass of wine & app. or dessert. Yum.

Sounds just like something we'd enjoy-thanks.

Aww, bummer. I guess I'll have to figure out where I want to eat. I haven't made ANY plans, since I'm going solo.

I'm thinking of eating at Yamabuki on my arrival day. I get into SNA airport around 10:15am, so I have plenty of time to get checked into my hotel and head to lunch.

I could make a PS for Blue Bayou for lunch around 1pm or so, so I'm torn. I'll have to figure out where to flip flop my lunches at these places. :-)

That leaves some play room for either Napa Rose or the Vineyard Room. I have 4 nights / 5 days coming up in two weeks....as you can see by my countdown! Hee hee.

Yamambuki is good. Just don't get the fermented bean curd & tuna.
