Villians Sinister Soirée

I'm just trying to get a comprehensive list of changes together because I know many people will be curious. Myself included. Nice to work from a clear set of facts, no? :)

Even if someone doesn't go for the characters (although, I think a lot do), the theme is taking things away and not putting anything in their place.

It was one thing to take away the princes and add in the villains, but then to take the villains away too just meant they removed 2 things entirely.

Is Bullseye meeting elsewhere since they removed the Toy Story dance party? Or just Woody and Jessie?

Can anyone clarify whether you can take pictures with the characters that come around to the tables? I know they won't sign autographs but at least pics with them?

It's already fixed -- even in the one you quoted. :)

Your list will not change the following: I am getting less for my MNSSHP dollar than I did last year when it comes to meeting villains. And that is due, at least in part, to WDW attempting to sell me the same experience for additional charge. Those are the pertinent facts to me.

Depends on your starting point. When you bought tix you had no expectation of villains at FTH.

That's why I'm making the list - to see what actual changes from last year are.

:thumbsup2 Pretty sure it is now established that the 2014 'base party ticket' doesn't provide the same level of value we saw in 2013.

No, but I did expect them as a meet and greet after the Mix and Mingle along with the princesses/princes.

Ok. Is there any harm in having an actual objective list of changes out together regardless?

In part, it seems. And it's up to you whether you now feel like MNSSHP isn't worth it. If your answer is that it isn't, I suspect you're in the minority. Just my guess.

I think what everyone is so upset about, or at least what I'm upset about is the fact the Evil Queen and Maleficent were supposed to be available in Princess Fairytale Hall. This was announced just a few weeks ago! Then they decide to make them available to only people who are paying $100/person at the Soiree? Not cool. To me, it seems extremely disorganized to be making such big changes with just a few weeks until the parties start, and it seems greedy to take away one of the most popular villains.

I agree!

These are not minor characters. They are ones you rarely get a chance to personally interact with and to offer them up as incentive to buy a ticket, then pull them and stick them in an upsell event is not cool to say the least.

So you can minimize it by saying, oh it's just 2 characters, but that's like saying it's just Mickey- no big deal.

But she expected to meet villains at the Mix and Mingle and expected to meet the princes.

Most assuredly.

I'll save you the trouble.

MNSSHP 2014 < MNSSHP 2013.

($99 VSS not included.)

Yup. I get that. Which is why I included it. Didn't discount that at all. Just being clear about changes.

I would have been much happier if they kept the princes or had all villains meet-able. But this is far from a disaster or a significant reduction in value of a MNSSHP ticket -- IMHO.

I disagree with this. Last year we attended the party for the regular cost of the MNSSHP Ticket.

We met Flynn Ryder, Prince Charming, Prince Phillip and Snow Whites Prince. All four of them have been removed now.

For villains we met Maleficent, Doctor Facilier, Captain Hook, Cruella Frollo, Snow Whites Queen. Unless we pay an extra $99, we can only meet some of them at a dance party where we can't even get good photos since they don't actually pause for photos.

This is a significant reduction in value for us as we go only for the villains. If I have to pay an extra $99 for a rushed dessert party, it's no longer worth it.

The DIS review made no sense to me. I didn't understand what he was complaining about. I don't think 1 hour is rushed at all. Obviously they can't let everyone linger as long as they want. The party has to end sometime. I can't imagine I would want this event to go on longer than an hour. Then he complains that he spent 4 hours on this event out of a 5 hour party. I don't understand that part. 4 hours doing what and weren't you just complaining that it wasn't enough time? Well, I will be at the next party. Can't wait to check it out. It's interesting hearing 2 totally different viewpoints on it.

Question... There are only 2 of us going to the party and we want to be in the pictures with the villains together. How can we accomplish this? Is it acceptable to just take selfies with the villains?

No there isn't. I suspect part of the issue is that it is.coming across as very dismissive...as "its only xyz characters,.it.isn't a big deal.". Not saying that's the intent, but that's how it is reading

Fair enough. Agree to disagree, perhaps, on how many people will feel this way. Could be wrong.

It is still "worth it", in my opinion--I'm still going. It is not "as worth it" as it once was. And I have VSS as a punching bag to help with the blame.

It's not so much that the question is, is it worth it. It's is what they did right, and do we want to support that in such a way that they'll do more of it.
