Villians Sinister Soirée

Oh I see. Well if that is the case it is a great place for the parade but is it a good spot for the Fireworks and projector show on the castle or is that too close?

Too close, IMO.

I've never seen it from that close. But when I took pictures of the parade and castle when we did fp+, I could not frame the whole castle in my pictures. I was straight across the street from the center of the castle and sitting down.

I purchased tickets for the Villian Soirée. I am excited about it. I think Dis fans are getting too worked up. I have had Disney trips where we did no extra events and had an awesome time. My kids didn't know any different. It's not as if they post signs about the special events for kids to see. If I didn't have the money then I wouldn't go. I would just find the characters that are available for general ticket price and enjoy myself. The soirée is a novelty event. It does not make or break the trip **for the record** I thought the Villian Mix and Mingle was awful last year. I had grown adults cutting in front of my son to get to the villains. I wasn't the only parent arguing with adults for trampling my child. Then I had to beg the CM to let my son get a pic with Captain Hook since they cut the line off right before my son. Glad all the stingy adults got their pictures. I also waited 1.5hrs to visit Jack Skellington since he is my sons favorite character. The $99 was well worth it so that rude people can't get in our way. I want to enjoy my experience. The desserts and special seating for the parade/fireworks is just icing on the cake!

I booked this immediately after reading about it earlier in the morning. (Party of two on Sept 9). I waited on hold for 50 minutes, but was able to get the earlier dessert party of the night, which made it worth it.

I understand the people that are upset about the pricing. We're actually doing three dessert parties this trip (there's only two of us and splurging feels excused because it's our honeymoon :cloud9:), but this was by far the most expensive. This is what made it worth it for me:

1) Eating inside the castle. When we were deciding restaurants way back at our 180 mark, I seriously considered CRT but decided against it because a. We don't really care about princesses, b. The food was supposed to be mediocre, and c. It was 2 dining credits. We opted for a character breakfast at Crystal Palace for 1 instead, but I still wanted the experience of eating in the castle. Now we'll get that.

2) I love desserts. Unlimited desserts is pretty much my idea of heaven.

3) Disney Villains without lines. We like characters, but not enough to wait around for them. We'd rather go on rides if we're going to wait more than 15 minutes. And villains are my favorite, especially some of the ones that are supposed to be at the event (Lady Tremaine, Frollo, and Captain Hook).

4) We normally go to Disneyland, and don't know the next time we'll be returning to Disney World. This is also DH's first time EVER at WDW. And it's our honeymoon. So all the special occasion, splurging, when-will-we-back? justification made it easier to overlook the extra cost.

5) Priority seating. We HATE crowds. We're going in September because it has the least crowds. We like the parades and fireworks, but might have skipped the parade (or had a really really obstructed view) if not for this. And I really wanted to see the parade, especially the Headless Horseman. Yes, you can see it with regular admission. But for us, and the way we tour, we might not have.

6) There's only two of us. If we were a family of four, I don't know if I'd be able to justify the price. I mean, $400 is a lot for a family to pay for the novelty of hearing Lady Tremaine sing. (You could see a *real* superstar sing for that price.) Also, I seriously doubt most kids will know the difference between the dessert party and the Halloween party at large. For that kind of money, you'd be better off upgrading to a suite at your hotel of choice for the night. Or having your own personal dessert party every night of the trip. Kids would go crazy over that.

But for us, in a dual income no kids household, the pros outweigh the price point. We're the perfect demographic for this kind of thing, and I personally can't wait for the soiree. It's going to be one of the highlights in an already jam-packed trip.

If Disney was dumb enough to do that, I think people would revolt and kidnap Mickey or something. Hopefully they are smart enough to NOT remove the chance of meeting villans from 'regular' party guests. If they do... it should be interesting that's for sure. Maybe they like giving refunds lately? haha

The meet and greet after the show is gone. Not because of this extra event but because the characters are meeting elsewhere in the park.

The wording was deliberately changed within the last 30 days to remove the part that says "when the number is over, the villains veer into the crowds for meet and greets." So yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
Not because of this. Because two of the villains are meeting in Fairy Tale Hall. That was already announced.

Sorry to double post this but now more people have booked - I was hoping if they can tell me if they are having the same issue?

I booked the 11:45pm seating but on MDE it is showing up as arrive at 10pm - is anybody else having this issue? Not sure whether to call back and just check my time is right. Wanted the later one as we get the party and then go into CRT!

We really wanted the later one so I will be pretty annoyed if I call back and the CM has booked me onto the wrong one as the later one may be sold out now - I'm in the UK and cannot call until at least 2pm EST today to check....

Where are you seeing it in MDE? I don't see it

It will only be there if you have purchased the ticket and linked it in MDE using the confirmation number the CM gave you on the booking call - you can't book it online/MDE etc.

The Villains Soiree is refundable, yes...just to clarify my post from earlier (not that the person I quoted was talking/referring to me, just in general) - I was referring to MNSSHP tx being non-refundable, not the Soiree tx.

Oh I see what you were talking about, ......yes, The MNSSHP tickets have always been non-refundable, to my knowledge. (I still need to buy my MNSSHP ticket and hope they don't sell out before I do ....yikes!)

No, I didn't have to link the confirmation number. Mine just automatically showed up in my dining adrs. It is listed as CRT

When I booked the CM told me that 10pm was the time that showed up on MDE for some reason, but that I had in fact booked for the time I selected. Another MDE oddity, but I was told if you call back to check on it, the CM will be able to tell you the actual time you booked for.

Thank you so much! You have made my day :thumbsup2

Oh sorry mine didn't. I had to link using the confirmation number I was given - even though the CM booking us in did find us on MDE as I provided my 12 digit resort ressie number. Another MDE difference for different people! MDE was playing up for me though when I entered mine so perhaps the systems hadn't aligned :badpc: :)

FYI, we booked for a family of four, and it's most definitely worth it for us -- odd to be so sure that it's a deal for a couple but not a family. Perhaps not for you if you had kids, but at this price point it is for us! :)

Like you, we like the characters but did not want to sink hours into lining up to meet them. Now we don't have to. We've done MNSSHP several times over the years, and the kids will MOST DEFINITELY know the difference!

Sounds like a cool, unique and NEW experience that we'll all enjoy, assuming the early reviews are decent. For a family that goes once or twice a year, doing something brand new is always awesome.

Hope EVERYONE who booked it enjoys it! :)

I am usually one of the Kool Aid drinkers but after last Saturday anything with the words Villains, Hard Ticket, and Party make me dry heave. I hope you enjoy the desserts for those of you that go

I hear ya, but this is limited to the number of people who can fit into one or two CRT seatings. Different story. The desserts are the least of it to me, but I'm sure we'll partake. :)

Yeah I know. I'm not seeing it under my reservations and it's not taking my confirmation number. I will just call since it's suppose to be under my dining reservations. I have CRT booked the same day, I wonder if that's why?
