Villefranche - beach or tour

We are cruising in about a week and a half and second guessing our plans in Villefranche. We currently have a Disney excursion to Monaco/Monte Carlo/Eze all day trip, but after looking at cruise critic we were thinking of going to the beach at Villefranche and walking around the town. It looks like you can walk to the beach from where the tender ships drop you off. Thought our kids might enjoy Some beach time after touring all week at the other ports. Anyone have any advise on if the beach is nice and how easy it is to walk around to some of the sights in town?

We did that Monaco/Monte Carlo/Eze tour last summer and loved it. (We have 2 daughters who were 9 and 6 at the time).

the beach there isn't sand, it's rocks. It's not something that I would do to play at. I would have loved to see Eze, if I could do it again that's what I would have done instead.

I loved Eze and wish we had more time there. I can't think of anything like it stateside. Monaco and Monte Carlo were amazing, there is so much wealth there it was fun to see. I did take a 10 minute walk along a beach here and there in Europe but I didn't travel that far to swim or lay out on a beach that is rock not sand. JMO though.

EDITED to say I may be remembering the beach from our Marseille day trip because it was rocks about the size of half dollars.

The beach at Villefranche is very nice. The ground was covered in large sand grains/microscopic pebbles. It was not at all uncomfortable. In fact it was nice because it didn't stick and/or hide in everything. The beach I am referencing is near the train station toward the back of the bay and an easy walk through a pretty town. My visit to Villefranche is one of my best memories of our Med. cruise. Once you get up a few blocks and climbed a few small hills into town you can leave touristy stuff behind and visit small churches, craft shops and restaurants at your own pace. Just be aware, European sunbathing rules apply.

Lastly I have heard that Eze is the best mid-evil village to visit. Jealous of your choices. Have a great time.

I may be confusing this beach with the other one, Nice maybe...it was nothing but rocks not sand. And yes, it was European sunbathing rules did apply.

I loved Villefranche, we went to the perfume making tour and did the evening Monte Carlo (have no idea if either of these are even offered) and then wandered around in our free time. It was so beautiful and relaxing. The beach that you could walk to was not sandy, and also seemed to have many yachts going in and out of the area. There may be a beach further away that it would be better off going to.

I have the same opinion as everyone here. Loveeeee Eze, I did the same tour.
